Ok I was wondering if it was possible to get a choc. F1 goldendoodle?? I have been to MANY websites and never seen one, so I'm thinking not, only F1b's & F2b's!! Thanks.....
It would be extremely rare. Both parents need to carry for chocolate. Some breeders have claimed to produce them, but I'm not sure how. When was the last time you saw a chocolate golden retriever? :o) I've had some red F1 goldendoodles fade to almost a chocolate color, but they have a black nose. A true chocolate will have a rose or liver colored nose.
Check out this forum. I know the lady Carol, who started this forum has a chocolate Goldendoodle. He is quite something. His name is Bruno and he is very pretty. Carol takes alot of pictures of him, so I am positive, you will even get a chance to see a pictures of him. A couple other posters on there also own chocolate ones. Good luck.
Yes it is possible. I know a few doodle owners who have some. However, it's extremely rare for the Golden retriever to carry the chocolate gene. Like April said, chocolate doodles have liver colored pigment for their nose and lips. You will never ever see a chocolate lab with a black nose. So... where are those Golden retrievers come from I have no idea but I do know 2 to 3 people who have chocolate Goldendoodles from other forums. I think all of the ones that I know have come from Mueller's Woodville Kennels... This is not a recommendation for this breeder. I'm also not putting down this breeder...(unless I have been to a breeder's home and know them, I leave recommendations up to people who have gotten dogs from them) just sharing information. If you google their website you will find that you can look at past pictures of their puppies and see a number of chocolate Goldendoodles.
