Well it's that time of year to be picking out a tree and start the decorating process. However this time last year, Bella was 5 months old and in an ex-pen and DH was home all day to supervise when she wasn't. So being as she is 60 pds and will climb, hop or knock down any barrier to get to her desired treasure, what solutions have those of you with Bella type dogs done to protect your tree? We always get a real one, and one that stands at least 9-10 feet tall, so there's also the fear of it falling on her too.
The area is too big to pen, and open to other rooms in the house. Maybe a gallon of Bitter Lemon???

Thanks. I'm glad it's working out. I don't think mine will be too bad since it's a little 3' one that I put on a table. I'm mostly worried about the kitty getting into, but we'll see.
Our first puppy safe tree (hopefully). We bought all new plastic decorations. Used yarn to hang everything. No hooks, no glass. Lets hope the fence keeps her away! So far she isn't interested. :)
Sounds like you've taken every precaution possible. I have all wood ornaments mostly and a few ceramic and some Lenox china ones. Most of mine are all collectibles from the childrens younger years so I don't want to take a chance of her munching on any of them as they are all as precious as can be. She is getting supervised visits with the tree during the day and we are able to keep her out of that room at night. Day 3 and still no ornament casualties. Hope Sophie follows suit.
BEAUTIFUL!!
Thank you! SHe is a cutie, dirty face and all.
Oh! What a darling photo of Bella!
