Ginger is being spayed next week and she will come home with the dreaded "Cone of Shame"

How does one fit the dog, through the crate opening, or for that matter, in the crate with such a fashion accessory?

These are the things I think about, while I am wide awake at 3:00AM.

Thanks for any advice

Luna was spayed in January.  The vet didn't send us home with a cone since they kept her overnight and she didn't fuss.  We watched her closely for the first 3 days and she didn't fuss at her stitches at all beyond sniffing them a bit, so we didn't need the cone or even a t-shirt.

I would say have a t-shirt ready just in case, then if she's really persistent about fussing over her stitches then she gets the cone.  Dogs HATE those things.

When we got Huff fixed (6mos) we just got him a ecollar to use then we had to get a bigger one because he had a really long nose he has since grown into it but it is still long.

When Chloe was spayed she would NOT be in her crate without a fight with it on, eventually I took a few vacation days because I felt so bad, so it worked out for both of us Myla did fine with hers in her crate. Good luck with your little baby!
