Copy Cat!

My DH came from the lower level (walk-out ranch) with a look of total disbelief on his face. He said "You are never going to guess what PuffDog just did" (PuffDog is Rua's kitty sister)!

Apparently PuffDog has been watching Rua go to the patio slider and ring the Poochie Bell to go outside. So, today PuffDog started ringing the bell to go outside (she is an indoor kitty but likes to graze on grass or sniff outside every now and then). He did the only thing he could do, he let her out.

She did it again, so I put Rua's pink harness on her so next time she rings, we'll let her go out and clip her to the lead.

Anybody else have a cat that has learned a behavior watching a dog?

I'm in love with Puffdog :-)

My cat Benji--picture a scrawny, male puffdog with more grey, but still the white & pink nose--used to play fetch with the orange connector piece of Tinkertoys and he pawed at the doorknob when he wanted out.

He didn't copy off a dog though. He just did this stuff.

That's incredible. PuffDog is smarty pants!

Cat's are much more trainable than people think. I trained my dearly departed cat to come and shake a paw. I trained my cat growing up to shut off the light switch and speak.

PuffDog is the perfect name for her - love it.

DD cat Charlie would sneak out the door to graze but she is way to skittish now so typically in the nice weather she is on their 3 season porch grazing on a plant especially made for cats.
