I was hoping you would chime in on this one. I was curious to hear what you would say since this is a part of the business you are in. I'm glad to hear that Kurgo is giving them some to test. If those end up failing would Kurgo harness owners be able to exchange their current ones for new ones if changes are made to them or would they ever really even know that their harnesses failed?
Dawn -- which harness would you recommend for a growing puppy? 10 lbs now will be approx 55 lbs
Dawn, I wasn't 'knocking' the testing or that we weren't told which harnesses were tested. The point brought home to me is that, at this time, there is NOT standardization in pet restraints as there is in child safety seats. We have a long way to go.
Nancy, Ned, and Clancy, No worries. :) I never took your comment to be that way and appreciated you bringing it up. Your concerns are valid and these things should be discussed. The more we discuss them, the faster things will change for the better.
Star and Goldie, I think that as Center for Pet Safety's research progresses, they will eventually publish their findings in full. Knowing Kurgo, they will most likely allow an exchange should their harnesses fail. The fact that they are cooperating with the Center for Pet Safety shows how much they care. If they don't allow for an exchange, just talk to me and I will.
Lucy & AnnaBelle's Mom, that's a tough one. The most versatile harness in sizing is claimed by the large sized PetBuckle. The call it a 'universal fit'. But their buckles are so heavy that I don't recommend them for dogs under 35 pounds. Bergan is rather adjustable too. But a large, which is what a 55 pound dog will need, will be much too big for a 10 pound puppy. You may have to purchase more than one.
