I took Crush in at 8:30 this morning to be spayed. I picked her up at 4:00 and the vet came out and said she was nauseous and wanted to give her an injection to keep her from vomiting. I let her give it to her and took her home. She has two different pain medications which should have been given to her tonight at dinner time. I didn't ask what to do if she wouldn't eat. I added pumpkin to her food which I thought might entice her but it didn't. I don't think I should give her the pain medications without food but I don't want her in pain, either. What to do?

NEW QUESTION:

I was told not to let her jump on and off the bed for three days. I don't know how the heck I am supposed to monitor this but it's not working. I try to stay around her and predict when she's ready to jump so I can lift her, but she is quick and moves around a lot.  Any suggestions?

The vet that we work with for the rescue group says that up to 24 hours after surgery is normal. If it goes beyond the 24 hour mark that is time for concern.

I hope Crush starts feeling better!

Is she still not eating?

No, I hand fed her piece by piece (kibble dipped in pumpkin) last night so she was able to get enough. Today she ate normal meals again but only if I add pumpkin to it.

That's an improvement!

Much better today. She brings me her toys but I can't throw them for her :/ I'm glad to see that she isn't in so much pain.

I'm glad she is feeling better!

Great news!

Any suggestions on keeping her from jumping on/off the bed? I'm worried about her stitches.

Such good news! ;o) Yay!
