Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Just recently I posted a blog about Daisy loving my afternoon charge, Noah my friends 7 month old....she is also in love with Sophia next door who is turning 2 on the 18th. Today at work one of my customers brought in her little girl Cassy who is 3....she is from Mexico and barely speaks English but she knows Daisy and calls out to her when she comes in Daisy, Daisy, Daisy...well, true to form my Daisy loves her too.

I can't believe I am so lucky, she is a gentle giant and it's all her. My last dog would have nothing to do with little people and I never let him go near them after the first incident. I was nervous the first 50 times she met a child or baby but no more. Of course you always have to be aware but pretty it's pretty obvious Daisy has good manners when it comes to children and babies.

Cassy's Mom snapped this picture, isn't it cute.

How are your doodles with the under 4 foot people?

Very cute child and doodle! Lovely that she is so happy to be with kids and it looks like lots of other doodles are too--my guys love children too but are a bit overwhelming in their enthusiasm--I have to watch that they don't jump or endlessly lick their hands.

My local elementary school has a resident goldendoodle (named C.C. for Caring Canine) who is with the kids all day as part of her owner's program (she is the social worker) and that doodle is just AMAZING with kids--she goes on walks outside with them, plays on the playground, sits with them in the social worker's office--truly a great dog! My only problem is that she is a dead ringer for my Lyric and kids will come running up to Lyric when we are out for a walk in town yelling the other dog's name and coming in for a big hug--this makes Lyric very nervous--after all, she does not see little kids much and it is especially weird when they are heading right for you screaming another dog's name!! I have to quickly say "This is not C.C.!!"

Yes this would be a problem...you must live in a very quaint little town where everyone knows your C C's name. Poor Lyric, adored by all and she isn't the one. I am sure they would love her too if they knew to come to her in a different. way.

Rosey loves little people, she thinks she is one of them!

Rosey is one of them, and so is Daisy, they just have better hair.

Very cute picture!

Thanks Nancy.

This picture is adorable!  Guinness loves the grand-kids and is so happy when they're here.  Murph used to be really nervous around kids and we had to watch him closely or keep him gated in another room.  Since his new "program" which includes the anti-anxiety meds he's fine.....he was able to be with the kids through the holidays and even seemed to enjoy being with them.

Jane, how wonderful that Murph is finally able to enjoy it all! Where's that "like" button?

Ditto.

You have done so much for Murphy, how wonderful that he enjoys his life so much now!

Riley absolutely adores children, a buggy coming towards us is the best thing ever and he too lies down when greeting them. Boris is following suit.  This was so important for me as I have had dogs in the past that were not 'safe' around children.  What a lovely post and some gorgeous pictures.  I would add that I would never leave them unsupervised around children. It's a wonderful way of connecting with children when my own are all grown up.

What a nice thought, Nicky.
