Dermatitis :(

I took Toby to the vet today, because where he had pulled the hair off his leg was now red and irritated from licking it. Also, one of his toes was getting swollen. Apparently he has dermatitis, some sort of skin infection, probably from scratching it and then further irritating it. So we had an antibiotic prescription, spray on cortisone, and he is on Benadryl for a few days until the itch subsides. If this doesn't work the vet said we may have to try prednasone, which I really don't want to do, because apparently he will drink and pee a LOT, including nighttime trips outside. "sigh"
