Diaper eating Doodle! UPDATE

Owen ate a dry diaper. My DD took the grandkids to the park while I took a quick nap. When I woke up, I found just bits and pieces of a dry diaper. Owen was chomping down the last of it as I came in the room. I called the vet who had us come in. He induced vomiting but not that much came up. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm worried sick that the diaper is going to swell up in his belly. 

UPDATE:

He finally pooped. Found some gel in it. I imagine that he will evacuate more, but I think he will be fine. I'm so relieved. Thanks for all of your kindness and concern.

Geez.  When I first saw your post, I thought it was a full diaper, so at least that's one good thing!  Keep us updated, but I figure he'll be ok.  I'd watch the poop & see if it comes out.  If you found shreds, hopefully it is in small pieces anyway.  The only part I wonder about is the velcro-ish adhesive part, but I still think he's ok.  My first dog ate (like Karen said) sanitary products that I had thrown away.  VERY disgusting...and embarrassing to find those around the house.  UGH.  Anyway - she was fine & they have adhesive type backing too - and she was very small.

I'm not worried about the adhesive because it was a "pull up" not so much adhesive. I'm just worried about the gel. He hasn't passed it yet this morning. It's only 7 am here though. Waiting, waiting, waiting! At least he wasn't sick in the night.

Do Pull Ups have as much gel as regular diapers?  My understanding about Pull Ups were that they were purposely less absorbent, but I don't actually know this for sure.

Just reading this now, what a silly dood to eat something so tasteless but I do think he will be fine judging from all the comments.  It just reminded me that when my brother was three he found a whole box of tampax which he took apart and inserted a tampon in his nose and the cardboard containers on each finger.  My parents had a very posh cocktail party going on at the time when he made his grand entrance.
