Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello DoodleParents...

Surprise - I have another question! What is the difference between GANA and the Premium Breeders list? I see some breeders are on one but not the other and vice versa.

Thanks!

GANA is supposed to be a goldendoodle breed club the way "German Shepherd Club of America" is a breed club.

Premium Breeders list is a list of labradoodle and goldendoodle breeders that meet the criteria the list owner has put together.

I think they are both good places to get started in looking for a breeder.

Thanks Adina!
I also believe that the "premium Breeders" list is a paid listing.
Good point. :-)
Yes GANA is the Goldendoodle Association of North America. It IS a breed registry but where it differs from other breed registries is that it REQUIRES health testing on any dog to be given a Breeding registration, and REQUIRES Health Testing on both parents of any litter before the litter can be registered. The test results must be sent into the registry and evaluated prior to any papers being generated. This ensures that all puppies with GANA papers are from parents that have proven and documented Health Testing.
Awesome. Thanks so much for the explanation, Wendi!!! :-)
