Okay... Does anyone's doodle go crazy for the dishwasher? Tori either slides herself underneath the door while I load or unload the dishes, or.... (because my dishwasher is older I have to rinse before I load), she tries to lick the dishes as I put them in, and even at times tries to jump up and load herself into the dishwasher! Silly doodle! ~ Shelly
And here I thought Cody was the only doodle who loves to "preclean" the dishes. I never thought of taking a picture. Will have to do that. He especially loves the frying pan. I also have to place the knives and forks down.
No need to rinse the dishes in our house! Hunter can SENSE when its time to go near the sink! Just this morning there was some gross mess on a plate that she found heavenly and when I finished loading it she still wanted more. Then she sat in front of the closed dishwasher barking and growling for a few minutes! LOL
Both of mine do this everytime I open the dishwasher....I have a problem loading it because they are right there trying to get into it, to see if there is some food that they can get...They would love to lick the plates...I usually have to get my husband to distract them while I am loading it...They don't do too much when I open it to unload it, but they do come to check it out and make sure there is nothing they migt find appealing...
Some of you may remember my post last year about this same thing; "dishwasher licking". Well, this ended very abruptly one night when Thomas's collar ring got caught in one of those funny hook type thingy that are on the bottom rack-on the side. While I was emptying a full rack of dishes he decided to check things out and his collar attached to the rack. Well, he got scared and bucked like a bronco and the rack flew thru the air and hit me in the shins and all of the dishes scattered around the room and of course broke into pieces. Ever since then, he may do a "drive by" when I am loading or emptying and all I have to say is "Remember the terrible accident?" and he takes off fast. That happened last February when he was 5 mths old and now at 1 yr old-he still remembers and has never touched the dishwasher again. So beware everyone-those collar rings get attached to the silliest things.
