DNA Test Results

Holler back if anyone has done the DNA test for their dog. I am awaiting my dog's results in agony, it takes forever. Just thought I'd find out if anyone has done this and recieved interesting results.

We have a grey or what I describe as pewter F1 Goldendoodle. His dad was a white English Golden Retriever and his mom was a black Poodle. Lexi looks a lot like him only a bit lighter. BTW Huskins is as cute as can be!!!

Jen, did you use the designer DNA test or the multi-breed one? I just love Lexi's coat. Such a cutie! I'll be glad when my Dood lounges around like that ... whew, my nerves are shot from puppiness. ;0)

I’m just not seeing any Beagle, PWD, or Airedale in Huskins. Based on his size, shape, coloring, and partially dense coat, my best guess is that he is mixed with two or more of the following:

Shih Tzu (cross between the Pekingese and Tibetan dogs)

Lhasa Apso (formerly in the Shih Tzu group)

Poodle (only if he has webbed feet; the Poodle and PWD are descendents of the Puli)

Cocker Spaniel (only if his head is dome-shaped – hard to tell with all the hair in the pic.),

Welsh Terrier (shares the Yorkie ancestry).

 

I’m anxious to find out whether any of these 9 breeds appears on the DNA test results.

I thought of shitzu, but they have that puggy snaggle tooth thing going on. Maybe cockapoo and yes definately Tibetan Terrier. Good Call! His hair was much longer when I first got him. I'm letting him grow out, we'll see. I just don't know if anyone around here would have a Tibetan. Are they rare? I had never heard of them until I started researching what Huskins could be. At first, I thought he was definately some kind of terrier and checked all the different types. He's been snuggling with me all day. I can't get enough of his eyes! He is soo soft, yet doesn't really shed at all. I still can't get over how he doesn't get dirty or smell. He's the perfect dog!

 My daughter and I were just looking at your pictures. I can't beleive that Zeus is 1/2 chow! He looks like labradoodle for sure! Chow hair is so thick and their faces are so chubby! I don't see those traits in Zeus! That's why I think Huskins may be something I haven't even thought of.

 Hercules is a big boy! I didn't know Porties were that big! He is so chubby and cute! I sure hope he's enjoying his last days! That was smart of you to get him a companion. They look like thay have a blast together.

 Thats like our weenie dogs, they used to lounge and laz around. Since we've had Husk, he has really pepped them up. Both of them play like crazy with him and just love him.

 Just realized you live in NC. You may not be home because of Irene. Sure hope you guys are all safe! Let us know!
