Every year my husband and I have a loud, house filled Adult only Halloween Party. 75 to 100 people. This will be the first year that I have Amante. I am considering boarding him for the night. First, because I want him to get used to being boarded. Second, certain people invited have no self control and become stupid for lack of better word. I worry that whether I crate him or "hide" him in another room it will be a long night and some persons who shall remain nameless( DH relatives) will be letting him out and I am afraid he will get out of house and worse. I think I will be more relaxed if I know he is safe. My DH wants to show him off, usually our dog is part of our costume. Should I board him or just show him off all night and crate him in between his appearances??

I would definitely board him.  Perfect opportunity for a one night trail.  When Gavin was younger I did utilize a traditional boarding facility (with dog runs etc) on a couple of occasions, because I could relax knowing that he would be perfectly safe there with no chance of getting into anything or escaping or getting into problems with other animals or having people give him the wrong things or not keeping a good enough eye on him.  He did just fine.  Now that Gavin is older and I trust him not to get into things or run off I feel more comfortable having friends and family look after him.
Can you show him off and then take him to be boarded? That sounds like way too much commotion to me, Daisy would not like being in another room as she is a people doodle, I would be a wreck all night.
I made reservation at the Woof Carlton!! I don't have a family or friend that would dog sit for me. My family and especially DH family are the animals  don't belong in the house types. I have a very nice facility by my house that I have used before with my last dog. They have web cam and will make him a home cooked breakfast ( if I want). I can order him room service treats. He can go in heated salt water pool, he can be groomed.  He can have a penthouse suite were he can watch TV on a plasma screen and a 4 post dog bed. He gets one on one time several times a day not to mention group PLAYTIME!!! I know in my heart that is the better chioce. My DH wanted to show him off since we have many freinds and family that we only see a few times a year. A photo will have to do!! I would be a nervous wreck the whole night!!
Awesome,  do they have room for humans? i wanna go too!
I know Right! My husband has no idea how much for each night!!! He would grumble under his breath O boy!!!
It sounds like a spa to me and I could sure use one right now! I'm in agreement with all of the answers that such a big party would be overwhelming.
This sounds wonderful, I'd like to keep him company. The heated salt water pool sounds like heaven.

Personally, I dread holloween with 2 dogs this year. Last year Bella was a puppy and we stayed in the bedroom while DH answered the door. But this year they will both be going crazy everytime the doorbell rings and even more crazy if they see the kids dressed in costumes. There is just no time to train them to get used to this one night.

I usually take Murphy in the bedroom, turn on the TV and DH goes outside and sits on the porch so the kiddies don't ring the doorbell and he gives out candy. Dogs don;t have a clue whats going on. I would not have them at home with that many people all dressed up. Never know what would spook him and the noise alone might scare him if he;s locked up in a cage in another room.

Sounds like the doggie sleep over would be a real treat for him.

The Woof Carlton sounds like the best idea and a wonderful place for Amante to be that night, Rose Ann.

You can enjoy your party without having to worry about Amante...and I'm sure he'll have a good time too!

With the doorbell ringing all night and all of those people in your house...you just might want to book yourself a room in a great place also...Lol...

Board for sure-that's a lot of people! You will not enjoy yourself if you worry about him getting out which he probably would.

Great one night stay at a doggie hotel would be a great start!!! (cage free if you can)

OK stupid question!! what do you mean cage free. they put him in a "SUITE" to sleep or quiet time.  Otherwise he is playing. I crate Amante!!
With that many people, I don't think you should show off your dog. It simply invites problems.   I'd crate him for the night and be done with it.  I always crate my dogs during parties.   However, I'm confused.  Are you saying that if you crate the dog in your bedroom that your guests will go INTO YOUR BEDROOM and let the dog out?
