Hi, Sadie accidently went into the ocean today. She chased 2 other dogs who went into the water and she followed them. I brushed her when we got home and lots of sand ended up on my kitchen floor. Is the salt water bad for her skin? Should I rinse her off in the tub? Thanks.

I would rinse and if she hasn't had a bathe in a while, might as well shampoo too! =)
I agree - I just rinse the doodles (tub or hose) after they've been in the ocean. I'll only bathe if they're due for one.

hehe...doodles seem to LOVE the ocean :)
OMG! I had the same experience with Jordan! I even rinsed her at the beach. I put her in the tub and rinsed, and rinsed.Washed her twice. It took over an hour to get all the sand off.Mind you Jordan had a full coat. It was her first and last time going to the ocean. It was such a mess.
We stick to the lakes with their nice rocky beaches.
Good luck,
Tante
I let them dry first and brush out the sand, then shampoo. If we are on vacation and will be at the beach more than one day in a row, I just brush them and put blankets on the bed to sleep on. After their last visit to the ocean they get a bath, and they are fresh for the drive home :)
Rinsing her will help get most (not all it she's anything like Oski, lol) of the sand off. It'll also remove the salt water which can dry her skin & cause itching. Have fun doodle wrangling!
