When my husband and I leave Bailey and Murphy home alone, my husband insits that we must leave the TV on. He also chooses the Animal Channel because he believes that they like that channel!!!! LOL Does anyone else leave the TV on for your Doodles when they are home alone? If so, do you choose a specific channel?
We used to leave the tv on as well, but have now switched to the radio. My husband and I both feel like they will be lonely if we don't leave something on for them. When we did leave the tv on we did choose animal planet or discovery channel. How spoiled are these doodles?
Always leave the TV on for Christy when out, although not animal planet/national geo, as she really barks when other animals/ dogs are on, and I worry the neighbours will complain. We put something on that's a bit more sedate - chat shows like Regis and Kelly and The View (LOL).
I read in a magazine that you can buy Dvds called something like "While you are gone" which guide the pups through virtual walks to music and sound. They sound great. Checked on amazon, would have to order from the US as don't seem to be available where we are in Canada. Don't know if any members have tried them... ?
No we don't...we're gone 8-9 hrs a day for work and I don't want to pay for all that electricity :) Ours also have each other and never show any interest in the tv.
I don't leave the TV on...as Bentley would probably go nuts..just the other night, we were watching The Office..and had it on pause..well one of the actors faces was on the screen..and Bentley was just going nuts thinking this strange man was there in our family room...Crazy dog!
No, I work 12 hour shifts and that would get expensive! Lizzie also barks whenever there is a dog on TV and it drives her nuts. She doesn't seem to mind the quiet. When she was a puppy and first crate training, I would put a radio on for her which seemed to calm her down. The breeder said she used to leave country music on for the puppies. Now we don't really do that either. She just snoozes!
