We are adopting a Boxer/Poodle mix on Sunday. We currently have a year and a half old Goldendoodle.
I don't see the Boxerdoodle mix too often, so wondered if anyone can give me some tips or hints on these guys. The pup we are getting is 4 months old and is female.
Thanks!
I think there is ONE member on this whole site that has one. Is it a rescue or from a breeder? Done on purpose it seems like a strange mix as they have such different bodies, temperaments, and purposes (for which they were bred). But before looking into doodles I was interested in boxers...so I like boxers, just not sure about a purposeful mixing of them with poodles. Be sure to post photos...you'll have to educate us on what it's like to live with a boxer-poodle mix =)
I would be prepared for LOTS of energy. My brother has two boxers, and they never quit. And if Toby's poodle side is any indication, poodles are high energy too. So....enjoy, and be prepared to play. :)
She is a rescue. Adorable, form the pictures, at least. I agree. An odd mix, but a dog in need of a home nonthe less. It was done on purpose from what I know, but not what the breeder expected, so they ended up in a rescue.
It'll be a learning experience for sure. I'll update as we go!
How exciting Loreta! I can't wait to hear about him and see his cute little muzzle and what his body looks like. By looking at him would you have guessed he's half boxer OR poodle?
Interestingly, it's hard to tell if she is more Boxer or Poodle. Once we see her in person maybe it'll be easier. She will have a flat coat, though, and big, long, floppy ears.
YES!! From Homeward Bound in Indiana. The girl I am working with is wonderfull. Says all the pups are so playful.
The one we are getting is Ali, if you've seen the site. We got Rusty from a wonderful breeder (Goldendoodle Acres) but wanted to "save" our next one. Rusty will love having a friend, and we just need more craziness in our house! ha ha
I will take pictures this weekend.
There is a black BD at our dog park. His body is all boxer - ears and tail docked but his coat is about an inch long and straight as can be. He is gorgeous! Good luck with your new baby!! Can't wait to see pictures!!
