I've never been a fan of drooling dogs and luckily Banjo is NOT a drooler .... EXCEPT when it comes to peanut butter!   OMD...it is the funniest sight to see.   First of all, Banjo can be out like a light in the other room with the tv blaring and I can be in the kitchen and quietly reach for a jar of peanut butter in the fridge, bring to the counter and before the cap is even off....Banjo has magically appeared and is sitting at my feet looking up at me with the MOST expectant little eyes you've ever seen.   When hunger strikes between meal times, I will sometimes just grab a spoon full of peanut butter to have a quick "snack" to hold me til lunch or dinner.   I will bring my spoonful of peanut butter into the living room to sit and savor and without fail - seated on the floor in front of me is Banjo.... drool dripping from both sides of his mouth until his chest is covered in droplets.   All this for his BIG payoff.....which is to lick the spoon clean - and I mean CLEAN!   No longer do I have to wipe the spoon before putting it in the dishwasher!  And then after he's cleaned the spoon he actually tidies up the dribble off his chest by licking that!

It's just the cutest thing....and I have to admit I always leave plenty on the spoon for him to finish for me!

Oh yes!  Rosco drools for his meals.  He'd run following me to where the food was and then run to where he got fed and if he happened to shake in that process....flying drool! Otherwise just a long 3 foot drool hanging from his mouth as I approached with his scoop of food.  Cas used to drool on your knee or foot if you ate sitting on the couch while she gazed adoringly at your meal or snack.
Oh, Adina...that's so funny!   DH will say "look at him staring at you Carol, he can't take his eyes off you!"  RIGHT!  As you say......"staring adoringly at your meal or snack"!

Hartley drools more than Chase.  The most effective treat for drool is baked sweep potato!!  Rivers of drool from his mouth and puddling on the floor.  It is so funny to watch.  He often combines this with the "thin face" where he somehow sucks his cheeks in to make it look like he is starving!!

Kashmir usually only drools when she has her few moments of "resource guarding"!(which we are constantly trying to work on) I am now going to try to just walk away and she will just leave it on her own. Once she knows I don't want it, she doesn't care anymore. In the  past though, when I would try to tell her to "leave it" and then try to wait her out, the drool would just drip and drip!!! And most times it would be something I needed and didn't want it ruined or "drool" all over it, but waiting her out was a sure way of getting it back all goopie!!  Not as bad as the drooling on the movie with Tom Hanks in Turner and Hootch!!! Now that was discusting !!!

So now that I know she won't actually swollow it (which was my concern since she was still a puppy and that is the reason to wait it out and also her sister Luxie was the one with the sock problem and had Pet Insurance that they paid ALOT to remove!!) I can just walk away and then go back and get it after she doesn't think she has won.

But  she does LOVE peanut butter! She also knows exactly when I go to the Pantry to get the jar and

boom! -just like Dash on the Incredibles- she is there by my side! She now waits for me to finish my toast with PB in the morning, sitting on my foot stool patiently waiting to get the last 2 bites that I give her!!!! I just love my little Fluffernutter doodle!

LOL Hunter drools like that if you are eating ice cream or chocolate chip cookies.  She just can't licking her mouth the entire time and drools like crazy.  We laugh and of course she gets a little bite :-)
Darwin doesn't drool constantly. But if he's nervous, excited, watching tasty food, etc. He will start being a little drippy. The worst is in the car. He gets excited and the drool just drips all over the place. Ick!
Kona drools! I was so surprised because none of our goldens drooled and I didn't think poodles were droolers. We had a Clumber Spaniel who are noted for drooling, but I think Kona drools as much as Dudley did. His mouth is always wet. gross. When food is involved there are rivers of drool. sigh. But he doesn't shed!
No drooling yet from Tara-maybe I'm buying the wrong brand of peanut butter???:)
Carol. I just wrote a blog about my daughter saying, "Doodles Drool and Frenchies Rule". We got into a slogan war and now I see some Doodles really do drool :) I think I won't tell her that..LOL. My dogs love peanut butter too, but so far no drool. Vern is just very messy about food and water. Banjo is still one of the cutest doodles ever with or without drool :)
Awww....thanks Laurie.....I would have loved to have gotten a picture of him this morning with the droplets of drool sprinkled across his chest...sparkling and glittering in the sun light that was coming through the window.
Only on DK would we snap pictures of our dogs drooling..LOL!
We were out with the Doods around lunchtime and went to the Drive Through to grab lunch.  We ate Whoppers in the car in front of them....the whole car smelled.  Poor Murph was like a faucet.  I thought maybe a couple fries might help....he doesn't like them  Who doesn't like fries???
