I don't want anyone to think I lock my puppy outside!!! But this past weekend, we finally got snow that will stay for a while and the weather turned cold. At 6.5 months, this is Hudson's first winter and he LOVES the cold! I left the patio doors partly open so he could let me know when he wanted to come in - but he was happier lying on the deck in the snow.

Does everyone else's Doodle love the cold weather?

He looks like a baby polar bear. What a cutie. No snow here in Central NJ, yet. But last winter the doodles loved the snow, too. I had towels down on the floor all winter, to catch wet snowy paws. Enjoy your puppy days, they go too fast.
Yes they do Lynne - when I look back to his 3 month, 4 month pics I can't believe how much he is changing physically and mentally. I too have big old towels that I am constantly washing that I use for wiping down - Hudson and the floors! Too much fun and so much love in return.
YES, our loves the cold too!!!
My dogs LOVE it outside!!! I can't get them to come in most of the time unless I shake a bag of treats!!
I have to bribe Oski with treats to get him to come inside as well. This afternoon he was rolling in the snow so much it look like he was wearing white chaps! LOL
Yes, Halas loves the snow and ice. He digs at both to pull up big chunks to eat. Even when it was only 3 degrees the last couple of days, he would go outside and just sit there on the deck. I kept making him come in because I thought it was too cold for him.
The cold weather is God's gift to Jackdoodle...it's when his allergies don't bother him much and he gets a break from itching, infections, and best of all, pills! It's the only time of year that he is always willing to go out in the yard, and he actually runs around a little! (Most of the year, he won't step out into the yard in the morning or after dark.) After he does his business, he'll come flying back to the door so fast I have to keep a close eye, because it honestly sometimes looks as if he'll come right through the glass if I don't get the door open fast enough!
I never thought I would like winter weather. But it's worth all the cold, ice & snow removal, all the hazardous driving conditions and power outages (!!), to see him relatively comfortable in his own skin.
Jordan loves it...I am over the snow and ice.Only because this morning I fell down our front steps all 6.I have some nasty war wounds now. I cant wait for it to melt. Here the PNW we do not get much snow. I should say where I live we do not. I am in a Valley.
He does look like a Polar Bear, all snuggled up in snow.
That looks just like Max! He LOVES the snow. He bugs to go out and then he will either sit on the porch and let the wind blow thru his hair or he will lay on the deck. He spent most of last night outside while I wrapped presents.
You could be describing Hudson - snow Zoomies for sure!!! I also have a fenced yard, and I'm so bad - I just leave the patio door open enough for him to go in and out - unless the wind is howling and blowing snow inside the house of course.

So today it started pouring rain - I really don't like this kind of winter - snow one day (lots of it and I like that part), but then pouring rain the next - thats my AAARRGHHHHH!

Merry Christmas and thanks for your comments.

OH YES! Our dogs are crazy about this cold weather. Having snow and this cold just isn't the norm here in the Portland, OR area and we are having our hands full keeping the dogs in and/or getting them in once they go out! However, Rozee has always loved the cold - ever since she was a pup she LOVES to sleep in the bathtub!
This is too funny - Hudson loves to eat my bath bubbles and he will walk into the shower (I have a shower curtain not a shower door) when I am having a shower. I'll be interested to see what he does with outside water next year.
