Does your male doodle cock their leg?

Just curious as neither Teidí or Dubh cock their legs when urinating but instead kinda squat like a female dog.

My male doodle picked up the habit of lifting his leg at the age of three months after his father visited us for a few days--his four brothers all squat!

I posted something about the first time Sam lifted his leg...it was so funny and awkward! I do have another male dog that could have taught him, but now at 15 months if he needs to pee he will squat, but if its just to cover his fur brothers pee he will lift his leg and get it all over himself and will at least step in it!

Gavin neither peed, pooped nor lifted his leg outside of the yard until he was two years old.  Now he does all three on walks.  He will relieve a full bladder on a walk in a strange area, but will not "mark" or pee on a number of different trees/bushes outside of his usual realm.

Webster started lifting his leg around a year old, I think?  I just know that I kept waiting for him to stop squatting - I've always preferred a leg-lifter.  We had many brown spots all over the lawn from his squats, now he goes on the edges of the yard on various fence posts and trees. The poor dog can't balance, however, and my husband and I often chuckle as we see him swaying on 3 legs as the pee sprays and misses what he's aiming at.  We can't let him lift his leg on the bushes on the top of our retaining wall because we're afraid he'll lose his balance and fall off the wall.

Toby is almost two and he still squats. We have two little dogs that are females so I think that is why. He actually thinks he is a little 15 pound dog and not a 75 pound doodle. It is like the movie Ice Age when the girl mammoth think she is a possum because her brothers are possums. Same thing in our house. He sleeps on the backs of the sofas just like the little ones. Too funny.
