I adore this story...a shelter dog...now a hero......I think in my opinion there are a lot of dogs who try to alert us to all kinds of things....from the stranger walking by..but even further, to other things that we just may not be times in to.
Jack, my little guy for the past several years has with almost 100 percent accuracy been able to detect when I am going to go into respiratory failure....he was never trained...he just knows.....his manners can use some working on....but he always always knows....usually before me....
His first thing he does is stop what he is doing...he will stare at me....if we are on leash and I am by something. Irritating my airways he will stop walking and turn in the opposite direction.... If I am talking am losing my breathe and I ignore his first attempts...he will jump up and tag my belly...if I still ignore he will bark at me and get nervous....
He also knows when I am having trouble breathing At home..same thing...... He was never taught....I swear I think more dogs are trying to tell us stuff we are just missing it,
I love this shelter dog story.
