We are thrilled to be able to interrogate interview an expert dog trainer this weekend. Welcome to Spring Training 2014!

Doggy Dan is a noted dog trainer & behaviorist, speaker and author. His training system is endorsed by the SPCA of New Zealand (and is used by their rescue centers). His method is calm and gentle. It does not use any force, fear, or aggression. It’s the perfect system for us Doodle lovers! Meet Doggy Dan:

(Don’t go getting all excited and joining anything. We have a ton of free info on the webinar. We’ll also have a great discount if you choose to go further with Doggy Dan.)

We are going to ask Doggy Dan all the tough questions (and insist on really good answers :-)

1. How do I get Rosco to come EVERY time when I call?
2. How can I make Boca stop jumping on guests and bouncing around visitors (and me) like some deranged Tigger?
3. What about Barking? The barking out the window drives me insane!
4.  How can I make my dogs reliable off-leash? I want to have fun with them, but I can’t if they are out of my control. What can I do?
5.  When walking on leash, how does a person get their dog to NOT pull and lunge at every human and dog they happen to meet?
6.  And dog reactivity? Don’t get me started. If another dog DARES to walk by our house with their human… well… HOW DARE THEY! WE ARE ROSCO AND BOCA!  For us this is more related to #3, but I know some of you have more serious 'dog-dog' reactivity that's beyond just house guarding.
7.  Arghhhh. Etc. Etc. Etc.

You will be able to ask questions during the webinar if you join us live on Sunday night. There will be tons of great stuff so have your paper and pencil handy for notes.

There WILL be a replay link for the webinar if you can’t join us Sunday night. The way to get the link is to sign up for the webinar exactly as if you were going to attend. Everyone that signs up will be sent the link. There will also be a contest with give-aways for participants… we’ll keep you posted.

I cannot join the webinar due to grandkid's being in a baseball tournament.   But would like to understand why Hurley (2 1/2 yrs old and 55 lbs) is now very protective and kind of aggressive with other dogs that come by the house when he is out on the front patio with us.  He has always barked at them in various tones but now he is jumping over the patio wall and going after the passing dog.   He doesn't hurt them or even go completely up to them but he does sure scare them and their owners.

Why that behavior now when he has never been aggressive and actually tends to be more on the docile side?

Hi Diane,
You can get the replay of the webinar by signing up with the same link:  http://go.doodlekisses.com/dog_training_webinar

Once the webinar is done, a replay link will be sent out to all those that signed up.

Have fun at the tournament!
Clark

I can't watch live, but hope to be able to watch the replay at some point (no internet at home yet!!). My biggest problem is recall, I can't let my boys off leash because they take off chasing the wildlife. They are obedience trained and compete at agility, so they know the meaning of the 'come' command, but they both have high prey drive.

Signed up, and I can't wait, thanks for doing this Adina!

Signed up! Fortunately my Shelby has a good recall and we've not had a horror story, but we continue to work recall often. We would love to know some tips on curbing jumping behavior. Not so much of a problem with me.... But good friends get quite a greeting when they come to the house or meet us at the dog park, etc.

Signed up.  I agree with Donna :)

Thanks so much for doing this, will catch the replay!

Thanks for doing this, Adina!  A few of these are exactly our issues here - unreliable recall, jumping on guests (some, not all), barking out the window (only when I'm home).  These were all issues our trainer helped with - but the methods we're using just aren't totally getting her there, so I'm excited to hear another perspective.  May have to watch the reply instead of live tonight, but I'm looking fwd to it!

I would like suggestions on how to get yogi to stop humping other dogs at the dog park. Boy, girl, big, little.
Yesterday at the park I pulled him off a few times, then he stood beside the dog and humped air. Seriously?
Anyway he has done it since he was a puppy at 10 weeks. He was neutered at 5 months, he's almost 9 months now.
He is not aggressive and loves to play.
Thanks for the webinar opportunity, btw. :-)

I thought I saved the link to the webinar and now it is gone ,can someone post it ?

never mind got it :)
