Hi..

My sweet Jack is going to be seven in March and I think it's time to get him stairs to help him get on sofa and my bed and guest bed. In case you didn't know when he was a little over a year he was attacked by a big dog and had his precious hip ripped out of socket .... He healed well but never jumped up on things real well most of the time after that.

Since then a year or so ago, I rolled over on him while he was laying so close to me....I hurt him and herniated a disc in his back......

I don't have cArpet in my home and even though he can jump up with lots of encouragement, I want to make it easy. Can anyone recommend a resaonably priced stair case that is wide and stable ....? He only weighs 18 pounds He could weigh more he's been with my mom for a month....she always over treats him.....

Thanks.

There are many doggy stairs available, especially for a small dog.

There are plastic or wood and some of them fold for easy storage.

For you I would recommend the plastic as they are lighter and easier to move.

We have three different ones.

The one we like best is from Bed and Bath - they are caller "Up and Under" $19.99 (and you can get 20% if you have a coupon)

Remember it does take some training to get a dog to use the steps, so be patient.

Years ago, my husband made stairs for his elderly dog to climb up to bed. I still have them and use them in a closet as a shelf  until a time comes when I will need them a for a dog or cat once again.

Jennifer, a carpenter or someone that likes to dabble in woodworking creations can make a set,  inexpensive  custom made for you.  Just a thought
