Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We are planning an extensive camping trip to Boston next summer and will bring, of course, our beloved Zoe.  She is a miniature labradoodle, about 30 lbs and 30 inches tall.  I'm hoping to find a carrier of some sort that we can put her in when we hop on the MBTA or go into a building (no dogs allowed).  I thought maybe a backpack used to carry toddlers---  She will be walking on her own, on lease, most of the time, just trying to cover those special occasions.   Any ideas?

I was working in a retail shop and saw plenty of people coming in with their dogs in a stroller - a doggie stroller! In fact, I saw more dogs in strollers than babies where I was working. Crazy.
We didn't have a specified policy against bringing animals in, but why go into buildings where dogs (excluding assistant dogs) aren't allowed while carrying your dog? Usually there are reasons. Like once there was a turd on the floor - ew.
Plus allergies - regardless if your dog is "hypoallergenic" or not. I think it's the kind thing to do to respect the building's policies.
Just my humble opinion.

My Mini doodle is about 16 1/2" tall and 28 pounds.  There is no way he is small enough to 'sneak' into places that don't allow dogs.  My best advice is to socialize and train, train, train so that your pup is welcomed everywhere it is possible to take a dog.  Many stores don't mind a well-behaved dog.  I saw a dog at the Peterson Automobile Museum in Los Angeles yesterday.  It was about my dog's size and very calm and well behaved.  Everyone just ignored it.
