Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi All,
I have been on this site for a year and a half. I have gotten some great advise and made some nice friends. I have gotten great grooming tips, food advice, lots of laughs and a few tears. However, I have noticed recently when people ask questions, there is a tendency to be a little forceful with answers. A lot of people are asking questions or looking for solutions for real problems....aggressive dogs, food issues, re-homing issues...and instead of lending a sympathetic ear and helpful advice, there seems to be some quick responses with judging comments. Often times I feel sorry for the person asking the question, and some of the answers are mean-spirited. Some are very helpful.
Sometimes people don't see previous posts. When someone re-posts something, or asks a question, again...the poster is not doing it to be a pain...maybe they just didn't see the original post.
I like this site. I like knowing peoples stories, and their pups.
I hope that this post can make people think twice before they post an answer to a post, where the poster is seeking advice. The advice might be something that the poster does not like, but it can be stated in a kinder way.
For example, I am really nervous that people are going to react harshly to this post.

Adina, you are the queen of kindness and professionalism in my book. I don't think in 6 years I've heard an angry or rude comment from you. Even when, years ago you were being pummeled with rude comments to you when you first got Rosco. ( I think you may recall this). That is why you have a successful forum.
That is an eye opener. Rude comments about Rosco!! Our doodle mascot. How could this be. Yes, Adina could be a diplomat easily.
Thank you Sue :-)
F, I was a typical overwhelmed-with-crazy-JAWS-puppy new owner and 'nothing was working' and I posted a lot and had the same questions over and over and wasn't satisfied with the advice I was getting. A lot was assumed about me, my intent in posting and ability to handle Rosco.
Now that should be amusing to new puppy owners now, it is to me : ) I felt exactly the same way when I first was being chomped upon by Luca. But I didn't ask. TG I took him to training eventually though. Then I found DK.
Not to mention that sexy profile photo you used to use; I would have joined the site as soon as I got your invitation, but I thought it was some sort of adult social group. (Wink)
Gee, the first one I remember Adina was in a crate I think.
Doodle Kisses, the adult social group. Now that would be an intriguing forum title!
And don't forget that name: Doodle Kisses. We had a slightly off-color discussion awhile back about what that can mean in certain vernaculars.
I can imagine! I had to self-edit and delete the rest of my response since I should probably get to know everyone better before I "expose" my twisted sense of humor. I will say that the Doodle Kisses Photos section came to mind. No one would want to see pictures of my fuzzy little doodle. Too far??
Doodle is Australian slang for something: http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html
We actually do have a place for your "twisted" sense of humor. Check out the Warped Humor Group!
I have learned the same thing after having kids, what an eye opener! I agree with everything you said, everything. Nicely put.
Well said Joanne.
