Ok, so here is the latest drama.  Poor Boomer gets sopping wet whenever he drinks from his bowl.  Aside from drippin all over the floor and leaving wet spots all over my lap, The bigger issue is how badly his beard smells.  It takes forever to dry and without fail he drinks again and starts the cycle all over again.  His beard never gets a chance to dry until the morning after he has slep!  I am looking for a natural solution.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Jeri and Boomer!

I have three of these and they only help a little for the beard or dripping water. It sure helps keep the ears dry though.
Yep, I have something very similar. Gracie keeps her ears dry but still manages to drop her ball in the middle. Her opening is a bit larger though. I think I need this particular model. And...she still drips water across the kitchen floor!!!
Oh, and I have another suggestion. I have also 2 cats and I bought a water fountain for them. Actually my dogs love it too and drink regularly from it. This should also be a major improvement if you want to save the beard :)

Oh, I like this fountain. I had the Petmate one, but Harlow still buried her face in the 'bowl' part of it. This looks like it would solve that problem. Where did you get it?
This isTHE BOWL !!! This has cured completely the beard and floor mess for our doodle who has not had to have his beard trimmed and I don't have to follow him around with a towel and wipes ect. Well worth the money!!! Buy it. It is a permanent fix. I bought our buddy bowl from gundog.com check it out. Maybe the ones that aren't working for people aren't the original design or a knock off that isn't as good??
Lorraine, Could you post a link, because I am not seeing any buddy bowl at gundog.com? I need this bowl for Vern, aka Mr. Messy. Thank you!
No we do not have a problem with wet beards here. My doodles always wipe there face on a towel that is hanging low on the wall near the water bowels.

It is not hard to teach them to wipe their beards. It is almost as easy and bell training.

Okay, I'm just in rare form. OF COURSE WE HAVE THIS PROBLEM! Heheheh

I was going to place a really ugly beard picture < HERE > but it won't let me. But even though you can't see this picture I bet you can smell it. Ewww.

My dogs tell me, " It's a Doodle Thing. You wouldn't understand, Mom"
Chop, chop!
Boy, you had me going for a minute. I really thought your Doods wiped their faces...they are smart enough!!
NED WIPES HIS FACE AND EVEN HIS PAWS! Before you get too excited though - he does it AFTER you wash his face or spray him with detangler. He always gets an attack of the zoomies and runs around and rubs off on the couch pillows, dog bed - anything with fabric.
Murphy wipes his wet, yucky face on ME! After he's finished drinking he comes looking for me to give me one of his special "face wiping" hugs. He especially loves to do it when I'm dressed to go somewhere. Guinness, on the other hand, never gets his face dirty (he's kind of a "wimpy" boy).
