Not sure what was recommended but there is this rinse on Amazon called Silk:

There is expensive stuff from Chris Christensen including a "silk spirits" cream rinse and the buttercomb--I don't think it is necessary to spend that much though--you can get these combs for less if they are not made by this company:

But don't expect miracles for any of these--the dog will still get mats and you will need to comb them out--if you comb her more often, they won't get as bad, but if they do, just take your time and use the scissors to clip out bad ones--
Also, you can keep the area behind the ears and under the ears shorter--it is usually not noticeable.
I have noticed that the clothes are for small dogs most of the time--people with big dogs must not dress them much or they would have more available--no idea where to get them--you could always buy kids' clothes and put them on the dog--LOL!
Ginny...thank you so much for all your information! One of the other ladies said they want like $250.00 for a dress on that show...thats crazy! lol I am going to have to work with her more on keeping the matting dwn, i did not really know what to expect, i have a lab so the hair thing is new to me! Thank you sooo much!! ( ;
Ginny....i am going to buy a les pooch bruch when i get the money, this is all new to me because i have a lab so i am not use to the hair! lol I discovered the best time to brush her is at night when shes tired...she just rolls over she dont care! lol I am on a mission and i will find her a few dresses lol Thank you so much for all the information!! ( ;
The dresses are by RL Couture, and they cost a small fortune. I agree with Ginny, I think dresses and clothing are better suited to toy dogs than big ones, but for $280 a dress, I don't really think they're suited to any dog, lol.
Karen...you are right that price is crazy! lo; Thank you!!
Hi Gayle ~ at the very least I brush Charlie's head, ears & tail before we begin our day and that keeps at least those parts pretty much mat free. He loves to have his beard and muzzle brushed and just kicks back and enjoys it. The complete body I get through at least once a week. Otherwise, we would have to go quite short too! Now with adding a second doodle and the mouthing they do to each other, I am not sure if that will be enough (LOL)! Yikes - there are only so many hours in a day! Do you have a Les Pooch brush? I love them for getting all the snarls and mats out. I don't think the ears are sensitive as some parts - Charlie lets me pull the hair on the inside of his ears without any problem.
As far as the clothes, neither Charlie or Beau are keen on them. They are lucky they are boys! I put a little tee on Beau for a photo today, and as soon as I got the photo, he wanted it off.
Linda...you are right i am learning thats what i have to do, brush her much more. Do you know where i can buy the Les pooch brush at? I love dressing my dogs up if we go out somewhere ( ; Thank you so much Linda i am going to try to find that brush!
I bought the yellow one when Charlie was a puppy (it has a single head). I just bought the purple double headed one for him now that he is an adult. here is a member on this site (Kemp Rader) and he has a website (DoodleCountry.com). I ordered mine from Kemp and he is always a great help with helping to guide you on which type to get. Les Pooch brushes are expensive, but I feel there are worth their weight in gold. Gayle, I went through the same thing you are going through initially. There is a learning curve when it comes to grooming. You can do it, just hang in there.
See you DK.
Linda...i went to the website and i will have to wait a few weeks before i order it but i will definatley order it, i will converse withkemp and see which one is better for my Goldendoodle. Thank you SO much Linda, i really appreciate it!
Yes, she does! I second Nancy's suggestion to contact Dori. Beautiful clothing.
