She's a chocolate female about 2-4 years old, and she looks so sad to be in one of the worst high kill shelters in North Carolina. This shelter kills EVERY animal in their facility EVERY Wednesday.

There is a doodle backyard breeder somewhere in Harnett County that keeps breeding and dumping dogs at the shelter where they are killed if they aren't pulled or rescued. It makes me so angry!!!!

She is so sweet and calm and grateful.  The vet thinks she is about 2 years old.  she has very recently had puppies...they were probably taken from her right before they dumped her at the shelter.  She is infested with fleas and ticks that have been on her so long that they are the size of your thumbnail.  I am betting the chocolate one tests positve for heartworms too and am praying that the chocolate one doesn't end up right back in the shelter.

Our blonde girl is at my vet being well taken care of and getting a much needed bath. Tomorrow she will get groomed and most likely shaved.

She is soooooo sweet.  Please pray for her.

Also...great big thank you to Michael who found her, went and got her and even sprung two non-doodle puppies while she was there.  Michael is a true blessing to these dogs.  Thank you so much Michael.

Yup! Check out the non-doodle pups! They just ate a can of food each and are playing in my yard now. They will be bathed and cleaned up when my friend gets here with the flea shampoo and then they will sleep in a warm crate inside tonight.

Michael, you are amazing!  Thanks again for this loving and selfless act of compassion.
Ronna, I am so glad you are taking care of her.  I am worried about the chocolate doodle.
Me too.  This has been a very emotional day for me. I can't stop hugging Murphy.
That's how I felt when I pulled two little doodle girls and put them on a plane for Charlotte.  It is very emotional to be involved in rescue.  Our dogs are so lucky.
I can't imagine someone adopting a heartworm positive dog. The treatment can run as high as $1500, is excruciatingly painful, and requires the dog to be kept absolutely calm, on restricted activity, for lengthy periods of time.

My friend did!  She found out her baby Izzy was heartworm positive and had a long road ahead of her. Instead of returning her, she paid for the treatment. She was too worried the pup would be put down immediately.  And she did not have $1500 laying around at the time...

Fast forward 9 years later, Izzy is a big sister to a rescued Boxer, another rescued mix and a human baby boy :) : ) :) :)

It is unlikely but it is always possible. Fingers crossed for chocolate dood.

Thanks for this note of hope, Ally.
Can Michael keep in touch with the shelter or give them a phone number to call should the Chocolate Doodle be returned?  Otherwise, someone needs to check the shelter every day for a few weeks.  I sure do wish I lived closer so I could do something.  It is a very helpless feeling knowing how these Doodles need help and living no where near.
I just posted a craigslist ad about the blonde doodle being heartworm positive and asking the lady who adopted the chocolate doodle to get her tested and then shoot me an email if she's unwilling to keep a heartworm positive dog.
Will the shelter contact the woman who adopted the chocolate doodle if they know the blonde doodle was positive?
