She's a chocolate female about 2-4 years old, and she looks so sad to be in one of the worst high kill shelters in North Carolina. This shelter kills EVERY animal in their facility EVERY Wednesday.

There is a doodle backyard breeder somewhere in Harnett County that keeps breeding and dumping dogs at the shelter where they are killed if they aren't pulled or rescued. It makes me so angry!!!!

Jane, unfortunately in N.C. this breeder is not doing anything "illegal" as horrific as it is.  Until Laws are changed in N.C. this type of thing will continue to go on.  The shelter is not required to report this breeder in Harnett County and they are not allowed to just give us the name of this person so right now we don't even know where she is.  Michael and I however have made it our personal mission to find her.  You might want to do a fund raiser for mine and Michaels Bail money..

If your stomach can handle it please see the below article regarding what we are up against in N.C. and please know that there are good people here that are trying to do something about it.

Ronna...never you fear...all of us at DoodleKisses will be here to bail you and Michael out.  We would never let them take you to a "kill" shelter!!!!!!  lol

I agree, which is why I brought my 7 year old son with me to pick up chocolate girl "Roxy".  He said really wanted to keep her and give her extra love because she NEVER had it!  He understands ALL life is precious.

Monica...were you the one who met Chocolate Girl at the airport?  Is she with you now or on her way to Frannies?  How did she like the airplane ride?  I bet the poor girl is so confused but the only good thing is that she is receiving kindess and love every where she goes and from everyone she is meeting.  Soon she can settle into a forever life.
No, Monica took the chocolate girl from the woman who adopted her from the shelter to meet me at work. I wasn't able to meet the lady who had her since I had to work, but Monica stepped up as soon as I asked her!!
Awww....so sweet!

Hey guys - Chocolate Girl, now known as RUBY has been at my house since Monday (thanks to the DRC, Michael, Pilots N Paws, and Deborah Vaughn!)

All of the behavior Ruby displayed at Michael's house was out of fear (she'd had three homes in as many days) and I'm pleased to say that Ruby isn't displaying any snappish behavior and she's starting to come out of her shell. She has been vetted and found to have a severe ear infection and is on medication. Michael did a great job de-ticking her, and when I bathed Ruby last night I only found a few more (and all but 1 were dead...I have this amazing organic flea and tick shampoo that really knocks those suckers out! I hate how it smells - like cloves - but it works!). I also trimmed her mats out, and she seemed happier after that (she had a pretty darn matted tushie).

Nancie - reports are that Ruby did great on the flight, but she's pretty traumatized by the whole experience.

I do NOT feel that she has been abused by anyone, either male or female. Michael's bf Joseph is 6'4 tall and was wearing a hat and hoodie when he met Ruby. I think he just looked scary to her! She has been sorely neglected though, a put through much, much more than any dog or person should be.

Despite this, she loves people! She slept in bed with me and Callie last night and was a total snuggle bunny!

As shy and scared as she is, she goes right up to people and requests pets and pats. (and who wouldn't be glad to oblige her??)

Also - I didn't hear a peep out of her either...until she realized that she was downstairs in a crate and Callie and I were upstairs in the bedroom. I heard PLENTY of peeps then! (and of course once she stopped barking I went down and got her)

I wrote a blog post about Ruby so far, and it's posted both on DK and the DRC site.

Frannie you have a bountiful heart!! What a good deed you are doing again.
I feel so much better now. Ruby is in good hands. Thank you!!!
Frannie, I can't find the blog. Where is it located. Thank you!

It looks like the blog hasn't been approved yet, so I'm sure it will be on there later (unless me comparing irresponsible breeders to Hitler doesn't make it through the sniff test!)

LOL!! Good job Frannie, can't wait to read about Ruby!
