Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We all just love the wet sloppy kisses our wonderful doodles give us, hence the name of the website. However, I have been taking note lately of how many times a day I will just walk by one of my two adorable doodles, and just have to plant a big smooch on the top of their head or tip of their nose.
I liken it to how when in kissing range of one of my dear dear grandchildren and just can't stop myself from kiss- kiss- kissing them!
What's the best part --- is none of them wipe off my kisses....yet!
Remember that stage ladies, when your children were so humiliated and disgusted by our blatant show of affection they just had to wipe their face with their sleeve to get the cooties off !

Doodles are a mama's answer to a kissing addiction!

Anyone else kiss their doodles too?

Every chance I get!! He seems to love it, thank God!

Thinking about this discussion... Owen is actually our daughter's dog. He does not let her kiss him. I can kiss him any time I want but when she tries to kiss his face he slowly turns his face away. We die laughing. She'll try to kiss him and gets the cold shoulder, then I'll try and he just lets me plant one on him. The other weird thing is when he is on her bed he lays right on her but doesn't lays on me. Kona lays on my DH but never, ever, ever lays on me. They are all so interesting, aren't they? Hugs are constant around here. Everyone likes hugs at our house.

Interesting how they can take kisses from one person but not really want to from another. Like they have a preference for who kisses them?

agreed! they are just way too irresistible sometimes!

Um Yeah...a thousand times a day followed with I love my doodle babies:)

I also heard that dogs feel their space is invaded if we hug them...they can deal right??

I hug and kiss Halas all the time. I just can't help myself. If he thinks a hug invades his personal space, I'll start respecting his personal space when he stops sitting on me and walking all over me (figuratively and literally).

I think you have something there, because Bella has always run between my legs whenever she is feeling afraid or insecure. She started the very minute I bright her home and introduced her to Murphy. She just wedges between my knees and wants to be kept tight and safe.
Murphy on the other had just runs around in circles when he gets anxious and won't sit still for a hug or affection of any kind. Crazy how they can be so different.

It's NON-STOP Doodle-Kissing at our house and Asti LOVES it !!!

She loves to be hugged and give hugs too!!

I remember when my son, many years ago, and I were walking down a street arms around each other and he spotted a friend. Suddenly I became like a leper. But my dogs tolerate pets, and kisses when they are in the mood. And yes, Calla especially comes into the bathroom for attention. She's also the one to nudge me for more petting.

I remember those leper days well. My kids practically jumped out of the car before I even stopped it, when I would drop them off at school and then take off running like they were being chased. No wonder I love my Doodles :)

Ha, I remember them wanting to be dropped off a block away so no one knew their mom drove them. I always asked them how they think their friends thought they got there? They were only 13 yrs old and lived miles away! That's when I'd get the eye roll.

Quincy doesn't mind being kissed, which is a really good thing since I cup his face and kiss that nose several times a day. He also doesn't mind hugs and will come when you ask him to give you a hug.
