Doodle Lovers Cruise******UPDATE

4 OR 5 NIGHT CRUISE - OCTOBER OF 2012  that gives you 14 months to save up.  Who has interest?  Please let us know by the end of the day on 8/16?!  We are serious about getting this thing booked.

In Laurie's blog about sleeping habits of dogs and children, I was making mention of being on a cruise - Mimi Linna made the comment that she'd love to cruise with me - and this got me thinking.  Wouldn't in be a blast to organize a cruise and have everyone who could make it from DK go?  If a spouse could come great but if not there would be some (like me) who would go solo and be willing to share a cabin.  The saddest thing would be of course no doodles on board - but I can just see us with matching DK shirts on doing the conga line through the bar.  Perhaps Flat doodle could come and the Intercourse Tee-shirt.  I know that this is something that not everyone would/could make time for or afford but would anyone have any interest if I started to gather some information?  I'm sure that once we'd get to a certain group size that there might be a group discount.  Anyone have interest?

Vero Beach is about 4 hours from Miami and 1 hour from Cape Canaveal.

OMD - I just LOVE having something hanging out on the horizon to look forward too!  It won't matter if there are 5 of us or 50 this is going to be a blast!!!!!   One thing that we must do - make decorations for our cabin doors - OF OUR DOODLES OF COURSE!  We'll need to have some games - Doodle Trivia perhaps or a Doodle Treasure Hunt?  We'll of course help those traveling solo to find their perfect cabin mate - or you can find your own!

Can I give you a strong "maybe"?  Sounds like a blast...14 months is enough therapy to enable me to be able to leave my 2 precious doods for 5 nights.    You do know I almost had a nervous breakdown last December leaving Murphy for 10 days while we went to Mexico?

Yes a strong "maybe" is fine for now!!!!  14 months and Wilson will be wishing for a break from you!!!  LOL.  This will be breakdown free - I promise.  We are going to be talking "doodle" the entire time.  We'll decorate our cabin doors with doodle, play doodle games, brag, laugh and cry doodle stories.  We'll bring tons of photos of our doodles and don't forget that they'll have internet available - so you can check in with your doodle sitter!

oh my goodness, I just had a flashback from 8th grade and my room pastered with the Monkees..here we come walkin' down the street..we get the funniest looks from everyone we meet..hey hey..we're doodle owners..yeah i am a little weird.

I'm just going to warn you - when I cruise - I cut loose.  No one knows me there (except you guys and you all know I'm crazy) so it doesn't matter.  This is about having fun with other doodle lovers.  I don't give a twizzle stick what the other cruisers will think of my doodle door or my DK cloths or my fat thighs!  This is going to be about us!!!!!

amen sister...I find that if I am my silly self from the get go it weeds out the folks that wouldn't have liked me anyway...maybe we can get doodle kisses shirts made with the date and the cruise on  it..like first annual doodle kisses cruise with the doodle logo on it. I want a pink one..xxl

What does the booking deadline mean?  Does this mean people have to pay anything by then or just give a firm/semi firm/maybe YES?  Also have you looked into discounts for larger parties?  I have never been on a cruise so I don't know one thing about how they work.

Adina - this would be my 5th cruise but I am no expert.  I will be contacting a Cruise Specialist tomorrow for some help understanding the specifics.  In the past you have to put a deposit down when you book, the remainder is due at some point prior to the cruise.  I will  be checking to see what type of group rate we can get.  I'm not sure but would guess that to get any kind of group rate we would need at least 20 people.  I'll be getting more info tomorrow and will post further.
