Doodle Lovers Cruise******UPDATE

4 OR 5 NIGHT CRUISE - OCTOBER OF 2012  that gives you 14 months to save up.  Who has interest?  Please let us know by the end of the day on 8/16?!  We are serious about getting this thing booked.

In Laurie's blog about sleeping habits of dogs and children, I was making mention of being on a cruise - Mimi Linna made the comment that she'd love to cruise with me - and this got me thinking.  Wouldn't in be a blast to organize a cruise and have everyone who could make it from DK go?  If a spouse could come great but if not there would be some (like me) who would go solo and be willing to share a cabin.  The saddest thing would be of course no doodles on board - but I can just see us with matching DK shirts on doing the conga line through the bar.  Perhaps Flat doodle could come and the Intercourse Tee-shirt.  I know that this is something that not everyone would/could make time for or afford but would anyone have any interest if I started to gather some information?  I'm sure that once we'd get to a certain group size that there might be a group discount.  Anyone have interest?

Oh man...I will not like reading about how much fun all of you had without me!  You can count me us in as a strong maybe for now!  October is our 34 year anniversary and we usually do a cruise every five...hmmm? maybe Oh wait, 2012 will be 35!!!!

I love the idea of the shirt but first we'd have to ask Adina (her and Clark are planning to come).  I've been very careful to not call this a "DK Cruise" and infringe on the DK name so to speak.  But if we all were wearing DK shirts - what great advertising for DK and for Doodles in general.  Lots to think about in the next 14 months so hang on to that idea for later o.k.

This has been such a fun discussion to read even though I won't be able to go with you!  :(    Jane, super idea and kudos for making it happen so quickly.  I know I will be missing a lot of fun but I hope your posts and pics upon your return will help me have a great time vicariously!

Not sure why you can't come BUT - remember that this is 14 months away - Oct. 2012.  So it gives everyone time to find a way - all you teachers - start planning to be sick now - lol!  And Carnival is about as inexpensive as it gets - this won't be any super luxury ship but it will be nice and totally a blast.  So if anyone thinks that they can't afford it - well clean out that garage and have a yard sale.  Tell the family that you want cash for Christmas and your b-day.  Save up your vacation days!!!!!  Afraid of motion sickness - they have patches that you can wear for that.  Think that you'll feel confined while on board - there is so much to do and see that you won't fit it all in!  Significant other doesn't have interest - then leave em home to dog sit.
