Doodle or Wheaten?

Looking through some Petfinder ads and came across Murphy, a wheaten terrier mix from a puppy mill in Ohio.  I think this guy looks like a doodle, what do you all think?

No matter what, he's a cutie and I think he is with a safe rescue organization!

Our neighbor has a wheaten, Max. He and Peri love each other. I think he looks doodly when he is long, but that tail is a dead giveaway that he is not a doodle. To me plume = doodle

I went from a wheaten, she died suddenly, to a doodle, I think lots of doodles look like wheatens. Any way good luck he is a cute little guy, that even looks happy.

I can see the wheaton in him>>we had one for 12 wonderful years. This little guy in the picture has that black button nose that the wheatons all have.(doodle have it too though).When I cover his long ears with my fingers on this picture...He is very wheaton like. However...my giant 97 lb. goldendoodle always gets mistaken for a giant wheaton! He sure is cute though and the people who adopt him will be sooo lucky.

I think it's most likely that he is a poodle or a poodle-mix. But there is something about his expression that reminds me of a Bichon. To me, the curly coat and wispy, plumey tail could be poodle or Bichon, but the long ears seem like something else--maybe cocker spaniel?

When I was growing up, my family adopted a little dog who looked almost identical to Murphy from our local shelter. We named her Emily, and she was a wonderful, wonderful dog! (FWIW, we were told she was a poodle mix.)
