Doodle or Wheaten?

Looking through some Petfinder ads and came across Murphy, a wheaten terrier mix from a puppy mill in Ohio.  I think this guy looks like a doodle, what do you all think?

No matter what, he's a cutie and I think he is with a safe rescue organization!

ok... I just looked at some pictures of Wheatons and they have a similar look, seems like a similar coat - IF you're looking at the 'soft coated wheatens'.. but their heads definitely have their own look... especially their ears... their personalities sound a lot like Tori's, so maybe the trainer was blinded by her herding, boisterous personality, so I'll give the gentleman that, but to insist on a breed he never heard of is pushing his boundaries a bit! LOL

Luca used to be mistaken for a Wheaten frequently. The fact that this man never heard of a Goldendoodle is telling.

Murphy is only 20ish pounds and is 2 years old (is a mini if he is a doodle). That is another reason why I posted this - he is a cutie and maybe a DKer is interested....
If he were in Nashville, there would be trouble. DH would not be happy with me.

Oh goodness, if he was in danger, we would all be on that! Unfortunately, DH said he wants another doodle, but we need to wait until we have a big backyard. I agree 100% actually. I have told him our next will be rescued. He wants another mini/medium, which cracks me up, because he has ALWAYS wanted a big doodle. Until Peri "she is perfect". LOL.

I remember you saying that about your husband. My DH and son said the same thing. Definitely a BIG dog. Now Allie is absolutely perfect. Her birthday was yesterday. I meant to post something but I do mortgages and with the mortgage interest rates so low, I have been inundated with calls. Looks like I will be getting a new wardrobe, bedding, puppy treats etc.......when I finially slow down. Oh and we got an offer on our house. Paws crossed........and we found the perfect home to move into.......puppy yard and POOL! Definitely not a done deal but here's to hoping......

Whatever he is, he's cute! I vote doodle of some persuasion (DSP) over even the soft coated wheatens. Callie had a play date last week with a wheaten and ofther than coat fluffness, they didn't really look alike (Farley, the wheaten, was actually softer than Callie and Callie is pretty darn soft!)

I had a Wheaten and this is not one, for sure. I see a doodle but it could be a mini-poodle with a smaller breed like a shih tzu or something.

Peri gets mistaken for a cockapoo. For some reason, I take offense to that - why? They are cute and look similar LOL!!!!

His muzzle looks too broad to me for that combination, and his bone structure looks too substantial. But all that hair makes it hard to tell.
