One of Gavin’s “aunts” gifted him a lovely new dog bed. It goes very nicely with our living room décor. His old bed has seen better days, but we know he loves it, so we put it in the back bedroom for him to enjoy out of the sight of visitors. Gavin is often torn. He likes to be on the old bed, but he wants to be with the people. He has decided to take matters into his own paws so moves the bed out of the back bedroom, down the hallway to the living room. Today he was satisfied just to get it part way through the living room entryway (where he could keep an eye on everyone), but often he carries it right into the room and places overtop of the new bed. When he lies down he looks like the princess and the pea. Anyone else have a good problem solver?

So adorable! Gavin is an ingenious doodle. At least you know that he appreciated his bed, the old one that is. Camus has several beds, two upstairs and a cushy memory foam mattress with a bolster in his crate downstairs. He prefers sleeping, or resting, with a bolster, but has never tried to move them around. Of course it would be a tad difficult for him to lug the couch, which is his absolute favorite, upstairs.
Christine - yes I think the couch would be rather heavy. I think a bolster is a good idea - maybe for bed number 5 lol!
So the old bed looks bigger and more comfy? Well there is a reason for that. My 6'5" recently retired police officer husband who only agreed to getting a dog because I wanted it so bad, but walks him every day and talks baby talk to him and makes him special treats...oh wait, where was I...oh yes, we got new furniture and DH was packing to old stuff into the truck to take it away, when I find him de-stuffing one of the cushions and putting the filling in the old bed "to make it more comfortable." When my mother first saw it she burst out laughing. She said it looked like a feather "tick" that she used to sleep on when she was a little girl!
Wow--that is amazing--he would make a good service dog!!
This is so cute. I guess he has his preferences. We just tuck a sheet around our dog beds.
No Camilla THIS is the cutest thing ever. It's like the old recliner that my Dad wouldn't give up.
BG, thanks for posting this I had my first chuckle of the day. I am glad I opened your discussion first! :-)
Glad I made you smile Lisa.
Gavin would like to thank all of his DK buddies for the support in the FREE GAVIN'S BED movement and all the kind comments about his cuteness and great intelligence. However, I have decided that due to the entertainment value and the fact that it exercises his mind and gives him a job, we will leave the old bed in the bedroom and he can move it around as he sees fit during the day and sleep on it at night.
....And they all lived happily ever after!
