My Chewie (16 weeks on 12/30) seemed to be doing so much better, but has started getting extremely mouthy again. He has also started to mount my leg which he has not done in several weeks. He has all ready been neutered. He had to be neutered before we picked him up from the breeder. He is now barking and growling at me when he I try to stop this. I am getting so upset which I know just aggravates the situation. My husband thought that he read that letting your doodle lick your hands/face is a sign of submission. Is this true? Because I like to encourage licking
( kisses ) because it is a LOT nicer than being bit. But I don't want to send out the wrong message. Any advice would be GREATLY appreaciated.

I am new to having a puppy. Max is 9 weeks old and was the first born. He is basically house broken heading to the door on his own when he needs to go. The only times we see him wet in the house is when he pee's in what looks like defiance to us scolding him on nipping. He is an affectionate puppy but will nip when play gets to aggressive. I have went to the forum in hopes members would give us some advice on how to get through this phase.
Thanks

We have been thru all of this with our Thomas who is now 15mths old. God it was stressful. I know exactly how you feel, You love the little brat to death but he is driving you crazy. Re the humping-I just would not put up with it. Push him off and firmly say "OFF". You may have to do this 100 times or even 1000 but eventually (these dogs are smart) he will not do it. Also, buy yourself a large bottle of BITTER APPLE. Do not spray it at him though-spray your legs or pants so that he will not want to try the "humping" as he will not like the smell. A friend of mine said"you know you are having a bad day when everyone in the house smells like bitter apple. After a few whiffs, you can just show him the bottle and he will stop humping or biting. The age 16 weeks was the worst for us and it continued for about 2 mths. Somehow knowing others went thru this and made it with their sanity in tact made me feel better... I hope it does for you too.
Thanks for the morale support. I will continue to push him off with a very firm NO !!! I will try the spray also. It is nice to know that this too shall pass. Sometimes it seems as though it is not going to get better !!! I guess age wise we are in for more defiance !!! Hopefully those baby teeth fall out soon.
