I think this is a mahogany miniature poodle with a comfort puppy cut.
is mahogany a poodle colour???? Never heard of a mahogany poodle
I haven't heard of any kind of a mahogany dog! LOL! It has a nice sound to it though!

I found one!! A mahogany red poodle!!!  At least that is what the breeder is calling her. Carol calls it just plain red. Anyhow, it could be!!!

In this case, the term mahogany is an adjective (marketing term?)  to describe the darker red color.  It is pretty color though.  FYI.... Official poodle colors recognized by the Poodle Club of America are:

Black, Blue, Silver, Brown, Cafe au Lait, Silver Beige, White, Cream, Apricot, Red

The breeder I know in Ontario uses the term to describe her deeper red poodles.
I really like that deep red color! And now I see where the doodle colors originated!

Our first dog as a married couple as a little Toy Poodle that we kept cut in a Puppy Cut.   Thought I'd include a couple pics as there was some speculation maybe this was a Mini Poodle ..... Is really hard to tell, although the hair looks a little different than poodle hair maybe!

Thanks for the pictures!! What a cutie! It really is hard to tell a difference sometimes! I think the dog in the photo does have more of a fleece coat. They way it lays reminds me of Tara's somewhat. But I don't know how much the poodle coats can vary.

Could easily be Poodle, though the color would be called simply Red.

It's cute so it's a doodle!

I also have seen more and more doodles in ads! YEAH!

I checked out images of Wheatons on yahoo and there were some light chocolate, but none this deep.  I have seen

some local pups but you are right, they were lighter in color.
