Doodles watching television

I don't know if other doodles do this or if I have written about it before, but my ALD loves to watch television.  My husband is an old western movies fan and Harpo particularly loves horses running.  He sits on the end of the couch and watches television until there is a horse or a dog on the screen and then he runs up and stands up and jumps at them.  He used to hit the screen, but now just basically stands up and gets as close as he can without touching the television.  I have never had a dog as into television as he is.  It is funny to watch.

We watch a lot of sports in our house, and frequently "catch" our doodle pup watching along with tongue hanging out. He really seems to follow the players, too. It's cute! Just hope he doesn't become a couch potato!

My Midas LOVES tv!!! we even order a special channel on Direct TV called DOGTV and we leave it on all day for him!!

Eloise will watch if she sees a dog on TV - and when she was younger, she'd try to greet it, too, then I got to wipe her nose smears off the screen, lol.  If she sees a cat on TV, she'll bark at it about half the time (she's not a fan).  She also seems to like watching football, baseball and soccer - I've always thought she sees the green grass and the ball and wants to join in.  Beasley hasn't paid much attention to the TV yet, but I saw her watching when I had the US Open on the other day.  I think she was watching the tennis ball!

Dougal loves the tv. He has ever since we brought him home. He loves dog shows the best he will sit for about half an hour and stare at the tv. When they bark he will run up to the tv and look behind it and gets quite confused when he can't find anyone behind it! I've heard there's a channel on YouTube called dog tv and keeps them amused if you have to go out to work for long periods of time and can help with any separation anxiety or chewing problems. Dougal is a chewer when we go out so I will be trying this at the weekend when I go to the shops for a hour or two!
