Doodley Poodley Fur Growing!!

I am so happy to report that my 5 month old golden doodle is starting to grow some doodle fur....yyyaaaayyyy!! His whole back from the nape of his neck to his tail has beautiful thick curls....still hasnt started on his face or legs yet but I am hopeful:)

 

I will have to take some new pics and share his new little curls that are coming:)

Tucker is So adorable, Joanne!

I can't wait to see how cute he's looking with the "Doodley" curls down his back.

Luna's coat did this when she was about 5 months old, and she still has some loose curls on her back and chest, but nowhere near the ringlets or "shag" of most doodles.

 

Representing the small population of smooth doodles, I would like to say that you will get used to it if your doodle doesn't "doodle" out.  Short coated doodles have their own charm :)  We certainly think Luna is beautiful just the way she is.  One of the perks?  No brushing!

I couldnt love him anymore than I do....curls/no curls/bald....the running joke in my house is that one day when DH was getting my sons hockey gear ready to take him to practice he called out to me and said "Give your boy a yell to get ready" and of course...I called "Hey Tucker,lets go big guy" so now Brett says that he has been replaced as my boy...lol !

DH says that he used to come 3rd in rank after the kids....now he is 4th....hahahaha

I have no idea how Tucker is going to turn out in the end....his legs and face are smooth coated....right now he has thick poodle curls down his neck and back....if he grows them and keeps the smooth legs and face he is gonna be a funky looking Dood:):)

Luna and Tucker could be littermates they are so simular:)

I brush Tucker anyway just so he gets used to all the grooming but he doesnt get matts or anything like that at this point.He is 5 months old....so he may be going through the same coat change your Luna did.

I was gonna say there are a couple of smooth coated doodles here like Luna but couldn't remember their names....all of them are beautiful, especially Tucker!
