So the day I had picked out my wedding dress friend Jennifer and my Godmother came to try them on with me (since my mom and sister and grandmother live in Bermuda) and I found the perfect gown after trying on only 4 dresses (completely the opposite of what I had gone in for). When I was prancing around the store in the dress, my Godmother saw a necklace in their accessory case that might look nice with the gown so I tried it on and we ALLLLL loved it! Then when we asked how much it was ($400), I decided that was too scary of a price, but my Godmother insisted on buying it, saying it was her gift to me for my wedding day since it looked so perfect with the gown (this was the beginning of March 2011). In August (after my mom had been ill a couple months and stresses were high already, my Godmother decided to "have a stroke" as my mother really believes and go crazy for no reason at all. One day behind my back while she was talking to me about normal stuff, she called my fiance and told him I was selfish and told him all of these insane lies that I would never say or do (such as call her fat and tell her what she was allowed to eat and say awful things to her boyfriend [whom I like and got along with great)...NEVER in a million years would I dream of saying something like that to ANYONE, not even the nasty girls that bullied me in middle school and high school! I was going to ignore it thinking maybe she was just stressed about my mom being ill too and needed to vent and take something out on me because I was close, but then she started posting things on her facebook wall about me...I am no longer in high school and don't wish to go back to those days, so I asked her about what was going on and she told me that what she said was true (she was determined to believe this) and told me that I was going to regret doing what I did (didn't do anything) and basically told me to have a nice life and thanked me for ruining her 30 year friendship with my mom (which I again haven't and would never...). I cut communication with her because I wasn't going to argue and defend myself against things that never happened and thought it was completely inappropriate that she would call my fiance and say those things in the first place, but I have been respectful to her when it has come to my mom and give her updates when she has asked and whatnot...
Not thinking anything about my necklace, I didn't pick it up because the wedding store is far away and was just going to wait until it came in with my dress, so yesterday when I went to see my dress and get the flower girl fitted, I asked if I could have my necklace to try on with my dress and the girl came out and said "It is here (because they special ordered it) but the person that paid for it cancelled her credit card payment of it and wanted it "returned". So 6 months after she bought me a gift, she took it back and now I am stuck with the task of finding another perfect necklace! (My cousin offered her's but it is small and simple so just not as "statement-y" as I would like since the dress is so simple and it is strapless)
Here is a photo of the gown with the old perfect necklace (John never comes on here so he wont see this! lol)
and here are some choices I thought could be potentials from online:

Oh and this is my cousin's wedding necklace:
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions you have! I had to vent the story because I was so flustered yesterday when the visit to the wedding store brought all the drama back!
Clarification: My Godmother didn't legitimately/medically have a stroke...it is what my sick mother said when I told her how my Godmother was acting and the things she was saying about me...my mom is not in the same state of mind and she really believed that maybe my Godmother had a stroke at the time. I would have said she went "psycho (bad word)" but stroke was more polite. lol

these are pretty
I love your dress and you have such a great look on your face in the photo. I remember looking for the perfect necklace for my wedding day too. I found a 3 stand, freshwater, pearl necklace. I remember taking one of the strands off because it looked too busy to me. I still wear it. But then on my wedding day I decided just to wear the freshwater drop earnings and not the necklace.
Having said that, my daughter and I were in Ben Bridge jewelers the other day and saw this bracelet - similar to your original necklace. We both loved it. They have a necklace too. Maybe that's an option?

Also, the best piece of advice someone gave me was to take a deep breath before walking down the aisle to clear my mind and take everything in. Enjoy your wedding day.
Oh I am really digging the idea of a "statement" braclet and no necklace. Great link!
That's what I was thinking too. Maybe there was a reason why my daughter and I came across that bracelet!
Those are pretty! I'm not really a bracelet person so I hadn't really thought of a bracelet lol
These are great!
This is a great picture of the bride and groom :)
oh what a nightmare
I like the first necklace best
Okay, I just love your dress so much. And do whatever you want, but I wanted to show you what I looked like a few years ago. Totally different dress, but it was so pretty, I did a simple diamond necklace (where every day grandma gave me) and dangly earrings (kinda hard to see in pic, but I had this on my computer).
Either way, you are gonna look GORG the dress is to die for and you look wonderful in it :)
Oh I do like that! I don't have any "special" jewelry besides my ring of course...family isn't really a jewelry giving family and as far as I know, my family members don't have any jewelry for me to borrow either...except for my sister and her pearl earrings.
I love your dress. With all the beading you were smart to go with a diamond pendant. Perfect and classic.
See, simple is nice!! You look great Allyson!
