DRC Donations

I am planning a Romp and any Donations that exceed the cost of park I want to donate to DRC. Does anyone know if they are Canadian Rescues as well? I never see Canadian Doodles on the Petfinder pages when I look. I just want it to be relevant to other Doodle Owners.

hhmm, are you sure? I could have sworn I claimed a US tax receipt before. I think it has to be of a certain amount, and it has to be a registered charity same as here. I could swear I saw it as an optin when I filed my taxes last year.

and p.s. If I had the time on my hands I totally think it would be awesome to run a DRC in Canada.

Hi Hazel, I donate to DRC in the US there isn't a dedicated doodle rescue in Canada. I sometimes think I should donate more locally but as long as I am helping doodles it doesn't really matter where they are. I do donate to our local rescue groups as well so I think I've got it covered. I've never tried to claim the donation on my taxes so I have no idea if you can or not. It's a great idea you have so good luck and I hope you raise a ton of money and I'm sure whatever organization to decide to support will be more than happy with the donation.

I know one member who is raising funds for an SPCA somewhere in BC because they happen to have rescued many doodles in the past few years.  If you decide to donate to a Canadian rescue organization, I'll let Jessica know and she can repost details.

Doodle do come up sometimes in Canada.  I have been contacted a couple of times by Adrianne about transporting/fostering doodles that have come up in Ontario.  If you or others would be interested in helping you can let DRC know you are available if any cases come up in your area.  What a wonderful thing you are doing :)
