I was so darn pleased to win a prize from donating to Doodle Kisses. When I donated, I didn't consider the possibility of winning.
It arrived in the mail the other day.. and we couldn't be happier.
I sent a few pictures- probably too many :) of Chester and his favourite toy ( a stuffed bear). I also sent email describing his personality ( yes, I am insane).…

I wanted to share my experience with a Pet Nutritionist that I went to on the weekend. It was a fundraising event for a dog cancer program Nikki's Journey which included a 3+ hour (it went long) talk on Dog Nutrition by a local Hali-famous Pet Expert. He was doing the lectures for charity traveling around the province to spread the word.
*** Rodney owns a Pet food store, He studied Pet Nutrition over seas for 6 years. He blogs on Dog…

Over the Holidays, I was contacted by a local Dog Resort owner (She works with the SPCA) rescuing and helping rehome dogs. She had a 10 month old Female that was looking for a furever home. She knew Me as a doodle lover - as I hosted a Doodle Romp at her park last fall. She wanted me to reach out to my doodle network.
I talked to her about the puppy- her previous owners had found her aggressive. They didn't have time to give her the love and support, exercise and training she needed.…

I have joined the ranks of the DKers whose Doodles have short and snappy hair cuts.
It wasn't the plan when we took Chester to the groomers. I knew he had a few mats and his feet were quite sensitive (allergies and infection) so he wouldn't allow me to get near the mats near his paws. I had scissored a few of them out. ( I feel pretty bad that they were worse then I thought). I had been madly brushing him regularly but then I went away for a few days and it really got away from me : (…

Thanks Hazel. We actually were in PEI for some R&R and attended the PEI doodle romp they had this past Sat as well.. I have seen a lot of pictures from the NS romp and looks like everyone had a great time. If there are any more romps this year please let us know and we will certainly try to attend.
Yes, he got the most votes (mainly thanks to the DK friends) and he's an official mascot for the walk. Yay!
I was at Liz's yesterday and little Ruby looks stunning in her new collars. The pink and orange one in particular really looks great with her tan fur.
Thank you Hazel. Yes we are in Maitland NS outside Truro. That would be great to join a doodle romp and any information you have would be fantastic. I have just started going through some of the discussions and finding my way around this site. So far so good. Your Chester is a handsome boy!
Hi there :) We named ours Winchester, too. Only our Winchester was after a town in Virginia I grew up near :)
Thanks...I joined and accepted. Charlie and I plan to be there.
Thank you for such a nice comment. Monty is my everything and I totally understand when you say you don't want to mess up Chester's life too much by adding a puppy. That was my worry as well. But fortunately, the boys are getting along so far. It's a LOT of work, though. We had our routine down with Monty and now the little one threw everything off. I keep comparing the little one to Monty, and of course, nothing measures up. We still have accidents in the house after 2 wees of working on it... I'm sleep deprived, but I'm telling myself that it will get better one day soon.
Thanks for the b-day wishes and for checking in on Lucy. She had her surgery on the 17th. We have one more week until the stitches come out and we can lose the e-collar which seems to be the worst part so far. She has just now started to sort of put her toes of that leg down some of the time when she goes out to potty, but most of the time she is hopping on 3 legs. We have 5 more weeks of complete crate time and then we can at least get out for little walks. I think it is going to be a long 5 weeks, but so far she is still on her pain meds so she sleeps a lot of the time. Thanks for checking on her.
