Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm not sure if I should be putting this in a specific group? I read a lot of discussions on here, but don't say a lot.

My Pete has started to drool terribly when he is around other dogs, any dogs, big or small, puppies or adults, boys and girls, its really bad. The drool pours out of his mouth, when I take him to my folks to visit, they have a labradoodle that Pete loves to play with, or when a dog comes here to visit. Pete walks around with drool running out of his mouth like a faucet. Is there anything I can do?

no, my folks dog and Pete play great together, they chase each other around the house and the yard. If anything Pete is in Manny's face, but they take turns chasing each other and playing with toys.

I have had Pete since he was 7 weeks old and know that he has never had any bad experiences with other dogs. But he is with adults, my husband and I more that other dogs or other people.

I really don't think I'd worry too much about this, especially if he's not giving you any indication that he's anxious.  I'd be sure that he always has water available.  It may just be how he shows excitement.  I would keep up the exposure to other dogs and ultimately it may lessen and eventually disappear.

Jane,

I like your comment  and understanding of this situation the most.

Give the water and let him enjoy himself.  If he seems happy then let him drool and enjoy  himself
