Well, the drought is over here in California and we have been getting lots of rain. My problem is that my dogs do not like the rain and will not go out in it. Usually when I open the slider, they go running out to the dog run and do their business. But, if the rain is coming down, they just stand at the back door and look at the rain. Once in a while they will run up under the eaves and pee by the laundry room, but most of the time they just decide they can hold it. Harpo still goes out to get the newspaper in the rain.
Anyway, anyone ever train their doodle to pee in the toilet? I know it has been done and my friend trained all his cats to use the toilet. As soon as one does it, the others follow suit. There is a photo of a dog (that looks much like Harpo) standing on the seat with his front paws up on the toilet lid and peeing in the toilet. I tried to get Groucho Too to stand over the toilet and pee (he was tall enough to straddle the toilet) but he never got the idea. Any ideas?

Now it really is getting funny! I tried to find that photo but the gal who sent it to me deleted and I did also. I get so much e-mail, I usually delete right after reading. But the pup standing up and peeing in the toilet really stuck with me - expecially since he really looked like Harpo. I'll do a search and see if I can find that photo.
Yep, that is it! Thanks for finding it for me.
Amazing and funny!
LOL - When Myla goes poop outside she goes around and around and around in a circle till she finally poops - I am just imagining her doing that on the toilet - it would be hilarious!
As for peeing in the toilet - I guess it's a guy thing :)
I used to stand out in the rain with my son's Doberman, pushing him back onto the grass over and over and over until he would finally go. He HATED water in any form.
Chance is the same way with the rain. I have to take him out under an umbrella and then refuse to go back inside until he does his business.
Libby hates the rain - she just holds it for way longer than I ever thought possible. Frequently we go out in the yard and stand in the rain in the hopes she will think it's ok, but generally that just results in wet humans and a dry dog laughing her butt off.
Georgia loves the rain. In fact she thinks she has to go out more often. Only thing she likes better is mud AND rain.
Yes, Ro, that is it! And the dog looks just like my Harpo.
