Dusty Rhodes Dog Park

Hi everyone!

We're heading to San Diego tomorrow and was planning on dropping by a dog park in Oceanside. Has anyone here gone to the Dusty Rhodes Dog park? Anyone live close to there to meet us for a play date? :) This is going to be our first mini vacation with Cooper. Staying at a super dog friendly hotel by the Gaslamp district! :D

Our favorite park in the Oceanside area is called Montiel Dog Park - http://www.doggoes.com/parks/california/san-diego-county/montiel-pa...  It is just off the freeway (78).  When we stay in Oceanside, we prefer to drive to this one. 

There is another - the one near the shelter that is okay also. 2905 San Luis Rey Rd., Oceanside, CA

We've been to Dusty Rhodes (if it is the one in San Diego near Mission Bay on Sunset Cliffs?  It is okay, but I prefer the Oceanside ones. 

Depends upon where you are staying.

Thanks Nancy. We'll have to try one of the two you mentioned on the way home. I wasn't impressed with the Dusty Rhodes. It definitely looked better online. It was mostly dirt. We didn't stay long, just enough for him to burn up a little energy after a 2 hour car ride. The dog park is about 15 minutes away from our hotel. We're staying at the Indigo Hotel, around the downtown district and just a few blocks from the baseball field.

I'll let you know if we end up going to the ones you mentioned. Will have to ask hubby later. He's on a bike ride with the human boys. Lol

Montiel still has grass - at least it did. It is small enough that you can watch your dog from the covered tables. And there is a park with basketball courts and  Frisbee golf for your human boys.
