Hi everyone,

Oscar, my goldendoodle eats grass, mainly when the grass is long. I dont know why he does this. A day or two later he will throw it up. The real problem is when he goes poop the grass gets caught, and it seems he has a hard time getting it out. one time i had two pull it ,and he yelp.I felt awful.I would like to know if anyone else had this problem.

     Thanks for your help.

Please don't pull the grass, you can injure Oscar. Take a scissor and cut it as close to his butt as you can. It is not uncommon for dogs to eat grass, it is not harmful.
My Lilly eats grass too, she will be running and just grab a mouthfull. I think as long as they don't eat a whole lot it won't hurt them. I also would just let it work itself out.
Quincy is also a grass eater. Today he threw up the half bale of hay he ate yesterday( ok so maybe that's stretching it a little) but he did eat quite a bit. All of our main floor is hardwood but Quincy bless his heart chose to get up and throw up on the couch. Gotta love em!
Callie seems to think of a grassy area as a giant buffet and will graze like a goat. It's just something dogs do sometimes, so you may want to keep an eye on Oscar to make sure he doesn't eat too much. If Callie doesn't eat tons of it there are generally no reprecussions. Overeating it definitely causes throwing up.
Thanks everyone, I would rather have him throw it up, then have it caught when he goes to the bathroom. I will try to keep him from eating it.And I will never pull it out again, That bother me all night ,I was so upset, I thought that I hurt him, when I did that.
