Eating grass

Our Charley is now 4 months old, And he loves to eat almost anything lying on the ground weather it be grass ,sticks ,its getting harder to open his mouth and clean it out. while he's on leach we can almost control it. But when off leach a different story. we like taking him to the off leach doggy park.

Wait til he picks up a dead bird or worse. I have to really keep an eye on Annabelle, she will pretty much put anything laying on the ground in her mouth. Yes, the dead bird she found behind our garbage can.

Training a strong "Leave it" or "Drop" is about the best defense. My two still eat everything, and although I still watch and tell them to Leave it when it looks like something that can hurt them, I've gotten much more relaxed with it as after 4 and 6 years of eating everything, we've had no issues. (I do however have Pet Insurance for this very reason)

I just try to keep them as safe as possible by controlling what is in their enviriorment, inside and out. We stopped going to the dog park because of this. NO control whatsoever as to what is in the grass, what poop remains laying around, sticks, others toys/balls.
