Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We spent the past few days camping at a nearby campground.  A few sites up from us was this wonderful dog.  Her name was Molly.  She was constantly chasing balls across the field beside our row of sites.

Well, my mom and I were talking about how she just had to be a goldendoodle.  She looked JUST like my Grayson, but smaller and less clumsy, LOL.  She was even the same black/silver as Grayson (and the first other goldendoodle I have seen with this color-in real life). And my kids were all excited about the "dog like Grayson!!!"

A few minutes later I see my boys (2, 4, and 6) ride their power wheels up to the family of Molly and my 6 year old walked up to the owner and said something.  She laughed and nodded her head.  So, I walked up and she told me he had said, "Excuse me, is your dog a goldendoodle?"  LOL.  We talked for a while, while her sweet girl sat on my feet BEGGING me to throw her the ball!  We compared notes--there were alot of similarities between our two doodles.

We talked alot over the two days they were there...my two year old kept disappearing.  He kept making his way back to Molly...Molly's mom just thought he was the sweetest and he kept going on and on to her about Grayson, his "best buddy".  Molly's family was also in love with my yorkie who had come along--Grayson isn't yet well-mannered enough for such a busy place....but I do look forward to taking him along at some point!

Just thought it was cute that my kids noticed and interacted so freely with the "other doodle family".

Funny how once you have "one" you can easily "spot one".... A special breed "WE" ~  a special breed of doodle lovers!
I'm with your boys on this one, I get so excited when I spot another doodle and DH is just as bad.
My husband always teases me, I am basically a shy person except when I see another doodle. He says I will always talk to anyone as long as they had a doodle.
I totally get your boys interest.   I'll go out of my way if I even think I see a doodle.   I always assume the doodle owner is a nutty as I am about the breed.  : )
It's funny, but every time I see another doodle out and about, or at a dog park we ALWAYS come say hi to each other. Not sure if that happens with other breed owners or not, but it's nice to know that doodle owners like to talk about our pups with each other. :-)
What a perfect vacation neighbor-how fun!
