Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I found this ad today on the local Craigslist!!! So sad!!  :(

I don't really have a desirable car that people would WANT to steal but I didn't know that VW Beetles were either!!! We don't leave Tara alone in the car at stores even for a minute!!

Hope he finds his way home soon!!

I found another post the family put up on Craigslist in the LOST and FOUND section:

They are offering a reward and seem to care less about the car, they just want the furkid back.  One interesting point though is that in the first post they called him a Labra-Doodle and in this one a Goldendoodle?? WTD?? Maybe they did it to cover all the search options?

WEDNESDAY EVE UPDATE:

It appears the car has been found but not the doodle. :(  I know what you are thinking, Karen!!!

Knowing the people around here it was probably unlocked with the KEYS in the ignition!! It happens!!
This is horrible. Absolutely horrible. I sincerely hope they find him ASAP
I don't take my dogs in the car anymore unless they can go inside with me. I am actually worried about numerous things: them getting overheated, stolen, you name it. I might be over the top, but that's what we do. On a road trip, no eating in a restaurant - we get it to go.
I agree. I don't live a very busy life in terms of going lots of places all the time; I am rarely away from home for more than three hours at a time, and I don't travel. So it's not a problem for me to leave him at home when i'm going places where dogs aren't allowed. Jack also absolutely hates being left alone in the car- the few times I tried it, he got panicky.
The same thing happened when I left Tara ONE time. I was in a glass front store and I parked in the front row so I could see her at all times and she could see me. I was SO nervous!! And when I got out to the car she was shivering!! It wasn't good for either of us!! :(
Poor thing. Rosco, on the other hand, lays down and usually goes to sleep. Boca (though she's only been 'left' in the car while I step out to pick up Natalie from her babysitter) is fine but I don't trust her to leave my car interior intact.
My two don't get panicky but they do not relax while waiting for me. Luca is usually standing with his front legs on the middle console and Calla is looking out a convenient window. Sometimes they immediately lie down and go to sleep once the car is going.
That's what I did when Webber and I drove cross country. Food to go and potty at the gas station where I could take him into the bathroom with me. The nights were at pet friendly motels or family, where the dog was welcomed. These dogs are so adorable and so expensive that I worry that someone would try to break in and take the dog. If something like that had happend in the middle of the country I would have been beside myself.
This is so weird - same name, different photos??? WTD? These are two different dogs. I feel like it's a scam???
I think it's the same dog but there are long hair and short hair pics. Check out where the white areas are on him. They look pretty consistent.

I know I have picked up Tara from the groomer's a time or two and thought "'Who the doodle is THIS?? Not MY dog!!!" LOL!
Has anyone thought to reach out to the owner to provide them with more resources than Craigslist and to find out anymore information??
I am thinking there is something kind of hokey about this. A stolen car would involve a police report, and when there's a dog inside the stolen car, that's human interest stuff that just about always makes the local news. There is nothing about this case on-line...I did several Google searches involving key words like Blockbuster, stolen car, VW, dog, labradoodle, Medford, Grants Pass...all kinds of combos, and nothing came up that was related to this CL post, except this DK discussion, lol. Yet there were several stories about cars being stolen with dogs inside, including a Mastiff who was subsequently found. Something's fishy here.
