So, Orwell goes through times when all he wants to do is bite our legs or feet. Even when we sternly discipline him, he continues to do it and will bark and growl at us. I need help to improve this behavior… everyone is getting fed up with it.
That's all I really have to say about it… if anyone has specific questions about the behavior, feel free to ask. I just can't think of anything specific right now.

I can relate. I hope his job isn't in jeopardy because of it. People just need to be more educated about it… my mom or dad didn't understand any of my "quirks" until I was 17 when mom found out about it.
I tried working at a movie theater for nine months a couple of years ago. That didn't go over well. I was more interested in talking about calculus and I "didn't say hello to any customers in the hall." Long story short, I wouldn't recommend service jobs to anyone who is on the autism spectrum. xD
Ha, he says the same thing. Exactly. He went into computerized geographical engineering. It is colorful, yet he can deal a lot with computers and not humans. Perfect
Here is the problem, he gets frustrated with me ( the mother LOL ) and often doesnt keep me updated. We talk well with text messages and email. It is perfect. Thank goodness for technology because 10 years ago communication between mother and son would get stressed :)
So, his meeting with his boss ( fired or not) was Tuesday. I have no idea. I just sit and worry
Haha... my mom bombards me with questions because she doesn't like to worry.
She calls me a lot when I'm out and I don't like talking on the phone... when I move out e-mail would be best. (:
Kaitee, There were times when Quincy was a puppy ( even up to 9mos) that I thought he was possessed. He actually used to scare me a little. I had lots of clothes with holes in them thanks to the puppy teeth. All I ever did was say no and walk away and leave him alone and he would calm down quickly. I was an inexperienced dog owner and hadn't found DK at that time and really didn't know what normal behaviour looked like. I realized after the fact that he was just trying to play, but it sure didn't seem like it to me at the time. He was a very well behaved puppy when out and about and we were often complimented on his calm demeanor. :>)
Ha Donna,
For a few years after Spud was a puppy I had a coat I got out every winter and when I walked, down feathers would puff out of the back of the coat. LOL
I hated to give that coat up but really it was ruined from him attacking me from behind and I looked like a chicken
LOL, Joanne, I had one of those too, it was ugly but warm. I finally threw it out and I've regretted it every winter since.
He put holes in my favorite zip-up hoodie that I got at a Roger Waters concert for The Wall. To be fair, I have worn it since 2011 for nine months a year and the fabric is wearing down… I was saddened today when I found out they were no longer in production. Just a couple months ago I was considering getting another one to have as a back up. Hopefully they come back.
Love my hoodles. I may be an older lady, but I cant live without a hoodie. I bet, with these holes, it looks better. Patchwork is kind of cool too. My other son is a wonderful sewer. He doesnt use a machine but he makes some interesting thing with his clothing.
Maybe just a reinforced patch for you too? He will take the names of bands or music and repair his clothing with the patches. As time goes on, the shirt for example, will become better with wear, not worse
Maybe..... 'I love my doodle', patch for you to repair your hoodie?
There are several holes that my mom is going to sew up, but there is a larger one on the arm that a doodle patch would be appropriate for. :)
Kaitee, This is why puppies come so cute, because they can be little brats :) They all bite. OMD...I thought Fudge was part shark and someone said to turn my back and she would bite the back of my legs. LOL The trick is for you to stay calm...yelling, etc. only amps your puppy up. I used bully sticks and distracted her every chance I got with one when she started to get ornery. I can also tell you when they are being their brattiest, many times they are tired and a time out in the crate can solve that problem and give you a chance to re-group. YOUR PUPPY IS NORMAL! He is playing and yes, I know it hurts. Stay calm and I know this sounds dumb, but try and get him on a schedule. It will help. I don't know if someone is saying this is aggressive behavior, but our first dog, Hershey, was terrible with the biting and I was so worried. She was the most mellow dog ever and would not have hurt a fly. Also, tire your little guy out. It will help a lot. Throw a ball...walk...train...all good for mental and physical stimulation.
I have him on a set schedule and keep him busy with all of that during the day. Like you all have said, I just need to get through this. My mother doesn't seem to remember Bonny, our lab, during puppyhood. She acted the exact same way and being 7 years old, I was terrified of her until she got out of this stage.
When you are going out for a couple of hours leaving your mom in charge, could you simply crate him for that time? My doodle was really an easy puppy but we had scratches all over our arms from those razor sharp teeth! My Springer Spaniel is lucky he survived puppyhood - or maybe we are lucky we survived HIS puppyhood. He was really a shark and totally destroyed couches, chairs, molding, rugs, carpets and on and on. Hang in there! I am a retired Special Education teacher so I also know your extra challenges. Good for you to pursue your pet ownership dream. We are here and will help you through the pitfalls of raising Orwell - who has an awesome name.
