Final plans

We had the bad news over Thanksgiving that Groucho Too has cancer of the liver.  He had a cancerous cyst on his spleen that burst so they did a spleenectomy and had the spleen biopsied.  It was cancer.  They also saw nodes on his liver during the surgery.  So....what to do?  He has the stitches out tomorrow, so we have decided to tell the vet we want plenty of pain medication for him when he starts to be bad and we have decided to have him put down at home.  There is a traveling vet who will come to the home to do this.  There is also a pet crematorium in our little town who pick up corpses and take them for cremation.  We will have him put down at home, cremated, and the ashes buried at home.  We have even picked the area for his final resting spot.  We are ready to lay our beautiful goldendoodle to rest.

Lovely to hear he is having happy carefree normal days such good news to hear. May Groucho Too have many more days like this.

Lynda, I'm so sorry to read about Groucho too. I guess I missed a lot of postings over the holidays and am just catching up. Im glad he is having some really good days and hope they will continue for many more. I hope you can feel the warmth of many hugs for you and Groucho! Many of us have been through this too many times and it just never gets easier. But we still do it because of the mountains of love we get from them. Grouch too is lucky to have you and I know you are very lucky to have him "Too!"
